Is there anything wrong (other than aesthetics) with shooting plated bullets out of my 2nd Gen SAA .45 Colt? I found a very good bulk deal on some remanufactured stuff that I plan to shoot up at the range, then reload using "Cowboy Approved" 250 gr RNFP bullets and Unique powder. What's the consensus of THR? Thank you in advance!

Re-Manufactured means reloaded.

If it was reloaded with plated bullets by a reputable company, there would be no concern at all shooting them in a 2nd. Gen SAA.

The barrel steel by then was as good as it is now.

If it was reloaded by some fly-by-night outfit nobody ever heard of?

I wouldn't shoot it in my 3rd. Gen SAA, or a very valuable gun like yours.

seems ok then...

It is loaded by a LAX Ammunition, a company in Southern California (Los Angeles). To be in business in highly regulated California makes me feel like they have their stuff together. The reviews on their page seem fairly positive. I'd just never heard of running copper through an old six-gun.

they have starline brass new stuff for a little more:
