Is that a Pietta? In my opinion, yes. Even a .32 five shooter like an 1849 is tons of fun. Not to mention that one of the nicest percussion revolvers is the .36 five shot 1862 Pocket Police.

Do you find a big quality difference in Pietta and Uberti these days. I ordered an Uberti inox style revolver recently and wasn't impressed. I sent it back.In my opinion, yes. My 1851 Pietta has some timing/internal issues that I've been working on.....it's from the 90s. My1858 from a few years ago is solid as a rock. Both of mine (1862 & 1849) are Uberti. I had a few cosmetic issues with my most recent Uberti purchase (the 1862), but was able to correct them myself. I have a Pietta 1861 and 1858, and both of them were fine. I did, however, purchase them some years ago.
Not bad for a 1st project, perfectly functional and a lot finer than some of the commercial offerings I've seen.View attachment 230730 View attachment 230729 View attachment 230729 I made this holster a few years ago. It's not perfect....it was my first attempt at a project like this. I learned a lot.
I am going to try to do another holster soon. Gotta get my skills up.Not bad for a 1st project, perfectly functional and a lot finer than some of the commercial offerings I've seen.
I have a loader based on that. Let me see if someone smarter than I knows how to post a pic.View attachment 230327 My new project.....a cylinder loader. Any advice?
Mine turned out good. Do you like yours?I have a loader based on that. Let me see if someone smarter than I knows how to post a pic.
MI Mike that's handsome! I too craft full flap holsters and that's a well balanced and nicely laid out one there. I saw something like it online and got lucky with some hardwood scraps. That was ingenious!
Any thought given to cupping the surface of the bolt to accomodate the RB shape?I added a return spring after drilling out the rivet on the loading ram.View attachment 230572
I did cupthe surface with a dremel bit.Any thought given to cupping the surface of the bolt to accomodate the RB shape?
I'll be building one next week and I'm considering adding a piece of white formica under the cylinder to make seeing the open flash holes easier.
That's a beauty!!! Congrats to you!Picked up a new (to me) Old Army today with aftermarket grips.
