Tikka T3 Lite in 7.62x39 with a 16" threaded barrel.
I have thought about reaming my 22LR to magnum. Haven't made up my mind on it yet.I wish Ruger would bring back the Bearcat in 22lr/22mag. They can be had both on the used market and custom gunsmith market, but both options are way too overpriced.
To start, how about a semi auto rifle with a traditional stock and not a pistol grip?
Mini 14?
There is one. The Mini 14, of which a tiny number are sold compared to the AR. It's about what the customers want. I think there's probably a very small number of people who would be interested in something like that, making it a probable losing proposition for the manufacturer who tried it. Personally, I don't see the point of semi auto rifles for hunting and for 2A applications a pistol grip and synthetic stock is the way to go.
There are entire states with people that would like something like that... there's people in this thread that want something like that that don't even live in those states.
I didn't say there weren't any people that wanted it. I said there are a very small number of them. Not enough to justify making such a firearm. Obviously, the manufacturers agree with me.
Thordsen and a few others have made multi million dollar businesses just making funky stocks for those people mentioned above.
Are they really multi million dollar? That seems kinda high. Depends what "multi million" means I suppose.
If they can make just a couple million selling $130 stocks then it seems reasonable that the mfgrs can double or triple that selling $500 plus rifles.
OMG, YES!!! Even if it used a Ruger American action or something like that, just in an 03 type stock and hardware! In stainless!!!!75 percent scaled down M1903 A3 Springfield in 5.56
Could be. Apparently they don't don't think so though. I would imagine that the profit margin to R&D, manufacture and sell a complete, new, "traditional looking" semi auto rifle is a fair bit less than making plastic stocks.
I could see it in .357 SIG, because of the rimless case.I would love to see a M1 carbine in .357 Mag.
