So you're walking down the beach and you find an oil lamp. The genie that you release is a remarkably stingy fellow and so he only grants you one wish.

- OR -

Santa says you've been a pretty naughty child this year but since you voted for Ron Paul, that one good act alone is enough to get you one wish. What will you use it on?

Here's the criteria: You may only wish for a firearm, ONE firearm. It can be anything from either past or present. It can be expensive or cheap, just be prepared to explain why you want this particular firearm. You know, for that matter, it doesn't even have to be a firearm that currently exists. Say you want a lightweight pump action rifle that chambers the .460 Weatherby, you may ask for it (it's your shoulder, not mine.) If you choose a multi-caliber weapon, say an AR-10 with different uppers or a G2 Contender with different barrels, you're limited to 3 interchangeable calibers.

You know, just to keep this interesting we'll assume that Santa is getting senile or that the genie has received a head trauma from being bounced around in his lamp so you only get one wish but you get a new one every three days (in other words, three days after you post your wish you may post another.) This thread is really just a lighthearted game to see what kind of firearms y'all like.

Limited to firearms? These days, given the option, I would go for a couple^n (where n is the largest number I could get out of him) million rounds of ammo for my rifle of choice. Short of that, gimme a Barret with all the trimmings.

One of Samuel Walker's Colt percussion revolvers

If that's already accounted for in a museum somewhere, I'd take any of the following:
THE German Luger .45 ACP Prototype
H&K MP7 in .45 ACP (Only 2 ever made I believe?)
John Wilkes Booth's Deringer
Singer Sewing Machine Company's first (of 500 ever) Model 1911A1
Winston Churchill's Thompson

Whichever one I could get, I'd sell it for a ton of money and buy a whole bunch of other guns. :)

If I couldn't get any of those, it would be a Blaser Double-Barreled Bolt-Action Rifle to my specs.

How about this. I'll just list the firearms I like, being on a basis of practicality (what can be done) as opposed to what necessarily exists.

On the first day of Christmas: XM8 in 6.8SPC
REASON: It's reliable, well made, has allot in it and is a good caliber.

On the Second Day of Christmas: A Serbu .50BMG semi-auto rifle.
Reason: It's a .50BMG that's small and semi-auto.

On the third day of Christmas: An M-14 in .338 Remington Ultra Magnum (M-1 Garand conversion)
Reason: It's a good and strong long-range semi-auto sniper rifle in a caliber that's not terribly hard to find.

On the 4th Day of Christmas: A Beretta Neos
Reason: So I can sell my current .22

On the 5th day of Christmas: A 4 inch barrel S&W 460 Hunter.
Reason: defense against dangerous game.

On the 6th day of Christmas: A FAL
Reason: Good multi-purpose weapon

On the 7th day of Christmas: A Saiga 12
Reason: Good multi-purpose shotgun

Out of all those, the only ones that I would actually worry about getting are the .338 Remington Ultra M-14, the Beretta Neos, the S&W 460, the FAL and the Saiga 12. For the .50BMG and 6.8SPC gaps, I already have some scratch builds up my sleeve.

A registered M60.

Then I'd turn around and sell it, and buy something I really want that doesn't cost hundreds to feed!

The 1911 and the Arisaka my Grandfather brought back from the Pacific theater. Unfortunately my Grandmother threw them away right before he died last year. :(

I think you mean THOUSANDS :neener: (Last time I calculated such a thing 10 minutes of play with an M60 would run about $3,000 in ammo)

UMP45 wait no probably mp5 because of the cost to "feed" the thing. but either sub-gun would more than keep me happy till next election/ christmas

Well, it is down to two.

#1. Viet Nam era or early Norinco AK47 w/ spike bayonet in very good condition. I have wanted to collect some guns from the era.

#2. A quality .44 mag revlover with a 6" barrel (minimum) to go with my new little .44 Wrangler.

You said we could only pick one. I'll go with the one that YOU thinkl I should pick out of the two!

Either a custom hunting rifle with executive-grade wood, or a nice Holland and Holland.

Or maybe just a registered BAR1918.

Why? Because it's unlikely I'll ever be able to afford either of the first two, and the second option just rocks.

mmmm... lets see

a parker A1 invincible ...

If I had one I would have to break the rule... sell gun bad.

A quad M2HB set-up to put in the back of my truck.

They're all linked, so as I see it, it is technically one gun.

If I can't have that, an M777 with a lifetime supply of shells will do.

I seem to recall that the XM-8 melts.

I'll take an M14, forged reciever, new USGI parts, walnut stock, with a pile of mags and several cases of ammo. I'd prefer it semiauto, though...
