This has probably been done before so if it has just bear with me. If for some reason the government were to say you could only own 2 handguns what would you choose and why? For me personally I would choose my g27 to fill my carry and SD niche even HD. Night sights, 10 rnds for carry, ability to take bigger mags for HD if needed. 2nd would be a good revolver. Currently have a Ruger sp101 .357 that doubles as a carry option. If only allowed 2 I would probably make it the GP 100 with at least 4'' barrel for a good HD, woods, in a pinch hunting handgun. One semi and one revolver for me. What are your 2?

BTW pics are always welcome if you got em.

Just two? Both of mine would probably be polymer pistols (God help me).

- Walther PPS M1 9mm
- Glock 23.4 .40 S&W (I can also shoot 9mm with barrel & mag change and just a barrel change for the .357 Sig). It's a bit larger than the G26 I normally carry, but this would be for everything.

(In reality I'd keep all of them. Hopefully a revolution would be brewing)

Just two? And it's because the government says so? In that case I'd have to assume these two would also have to be registered so big brother would know who has what for if/when it comes to confiscation.

I guess I'd pick whatever survived the pending boating accident. If I'm lucky it's my 442 for conceal carry and the Buckmark for fun.

You mean you're an accident prone boater too? If it were me, I'd hope my Wilson Combat CQB Compact and Walther P99 survive the boating accident.

I don't understand the appeal of this particular game. A game where one imagines what one would buy/acquire if they suddenly won the lottery... far more fun.
In that scenario, it would require a serious trip to Europe to visit the Italian makers in the Val Trompia, and then to Scotland to visit the small shop of David McKay Brown

If the Gooberment told me I could only have two handguns and came and took all but two, how many would I have?

that's right: 10 or 12.

I will answer the crazy talk question OP asked but wanted to make a point about this crazy talk of the .gov limiting people.

I would probably keep:
Sig P226
Its a solid shooter and very reliable. I have mags and holters, and it will shoot 4 different calibers (I have slides, mags, and barrels for all 4).

Smith and Wesson Pre-Model 10
It's another caliber to shoot, its concealable, shoots well, goes bang, and I like revolvers.

That being said, I choose not to make a choice when the .gov starts tell me I have to choose only 2.

The word "choose" sounds funny in my head now.

I like to play the game:

"If I had just enough money, right now, to buy any one firearm this instant, what would it be?"

^I am going to start that thread now.

That game is too easy to play because the answer is simply "all of them".

You know, it's funny... probably 85+% of guns in the average retail store I would not buy if I had infinite money. I'm interested in a lot of different kinds of guns, but a lot of guns I just don't care about at all. Why would I want gun X that is worse in every single way than gun Y if I can afford multiples of gun Y?

I'd have them purely to post pictures on here for internet prosperity! Also, whenever someone starts a thread asking about comparing completely different guns I could answer them.

OP: "So I'm wanting a handgun for target practice and home defense and have narrowed it down to these three based on features I want. What are your thoughts on the M&P 9, the North American Arms Earl, and the Desert Eagle .50 cal? I only want to hear from those that have shot all of these firearms."

Me: "Well it just so happens I have the three of these in my gun-house, so I just took them to my range and my opinion is......"

Are funds for purchase taken into consideration? Or are we just talking about what she currently own? If it’s what we currently own, mine would have to be my Stainless RedHawk 44mag and probably my RIA 1911 10mm. One for hunting. One for carry.

Thankfully .gov hasn’t gotten that stupid yet.

I refuse to live without at least one .22 handgun for critters in the yard and general fun.
My other would probably be a 1911 for its proven dependability.
I have a safe, an upstairs drawer and a coat tree with handguns hanging or laying around. I'm not willing to part with any of them peaceably.

If the government says that I can only have two handguns, that would mean my carry guns would suddenly be legally useless. Which would whittle down the possibilities of what's left.

I'd guess a 9mm autoloader to double as a plinker and self defense gun. Then a .357 magnum revolver for the same reason I bought one as my first gun, versatility. Since I'd also expect magazine capacity to be limited, that 9mm I'd pick would be a 1911 type.

As long as Freedom loving, law abiding Americans do not become too lazy to vote, or too ignorant to realize infringement upon their inherent rights, such a law will not prevail.

So voter registration card and the Constitution of the United States of America are the two things I would keep close at hand, such I don’t have to worry about which of my handguns I would keep.
