Years ago, a techie with the NRA showed me his Ruger Security-Six. He'd had a Model 19, but after the first 2,000 or so hot .357 rounds, he had to have it retimed. After another 2,000 he had to retire it to shooting .38 Spc. But he saw the light and got a Ruger Security-Six and wrote an article for the American Rifleman on .357s in general, and he photographed about eight models in production at the time for it. But the interesting thing is that he put some round-butt grips on his Security-Six, traced them, then ground them and put on Pachmayr Compacts. I loved his 4-inch and tried it on one of my Security-Sixes. I don't think I'd do it on my 6-inch model, but on a 4-incher it's a great idea.
Any thoughts? Anyone else done it?
