I've had a 6" blued security six for a while now and it's a fantastic gun but I've wanted a pretty stainless model for a LONG time. Tonight "little brother" came home to join his bigger/older sibling :D

Top: Ruger Security Six .357 Magnum 4" barrel, stainless steel, walnut grips
Bottom: Ruger Security Six .357 Magnum 6" barrel, blued steel, rubber grips

Congratulations...a natural pair.

And thanks for posting a pic where I can actually see the drag line on a blued revolver! (another thread, nevermind!). :)

Yeah I read your "drag" post earlier. Actually it doesn't show up nearly as badly in the picture. I call the blued gun the "war horse" because it obviously saw some heavy use in it's day with lots of scratches and worn blueing and so forth. I've considered having it re-blued but it's got a LOT of character so I doubt I'll ever do it.

Here's a 4" with the small grips and a 6" with the target grips.

And Herrett's makes some nice grips for the Security Six if'fn you've got BIG HANDS!

They come in real handy if'fn you run outta far wood too! :D
What're them beautiful finger groove grips on your stainless one?

I want these at cdnninvestments, but the shipping was more than the grips and I could not find something else I needed right now. I may have to break down and pay it. :scrutiny:

I like my 4" SS Security Six.

Yeah, the funny thing is I was collecting enough stuff to make a CDNN purchase worth the shipping costs so in order to boost it up I bought a few things like the Security Six grips. Had nothing to put them on at the time but knew that someday I'd find the Rugers that I was searching for <grin>.

I saw a US Postal Service marked Stainless Security Six with a 2.75" (?) barrel in a Pawn Shop a few years ago. I've been mad I didn't snag it ever since. Nice Ruger you've got there!

Nice team of Sixes. Ther are some good looking Herrett grips floating around the gun shows and Ebay- usually pretty reasonable.

Pretty darn nicely actually (shot 'em last night).

The new Stainless 4" model...

And the old blued "warhorse"

(note that I'm quite a bit further away from these targets than the ones I shot with the 4" barrel )

Bob F....Nice gun, love those grips!

Yeah, the "war horse" (the 6" blued) has had a tough life but it's a testament to the pure durability of the security six design and it has absolutely the BEST trigger of anything I've ever fired. It "snaps" like breaking a glass rod and does it at precisely the same spot every time. The new SS one has a "very nice" trigger but the sheer beauty of the trigger on the blued one just about breaks my heart and causes me to weep for joy every time I pull the trigger.
