I was browsing through the local backpage.com, not really looking to purchase anything in particular. Saw a blued 4" Ruger Security Six 357 for $300. It has wood grips and a box of 357. I emailed him offering $250 and he accepted. Is this to good of a deal not to jump on?

It's hard to tell from the photo whether that one was made before the warning roll mark was added to the barrel. Either way, those are very nice revolvers.

You got ripped off!

I can't stand the thought of someone being taken advantage of like you were. Send it to me and I'll give you your money back.

:neener:

you did good! provided its in decent shape and works properly. those are some very well made revolvers. the entire "six" series are great. (as are the current SP and GP series)

I don't know if this will help you to put things in perspective or not, but here goes...

The first handgun I ever purchased was the Ruger Security Six, stainless, 6" barrel, back in 1978.

I loved it. It was $189.00, new in the box from a local gun shop. As others here have already said, barring anything wrong with it I wouldn't hesitate.

Good luck. :D

Very good price. I got one off of Gunbroker a few months ago for $225. By the time I paid shipping and transfer fees it was up to $275. Doesn't look as good as yours and I thought I got a good deal. Yours was better.

Even if it needs work (unlikely), Ruger will still service the "-Sixes", even up to a complete refurbishing for little cost. As mentioned, those are not factory grips. They appear to be Herrett's Shooting Stars, in fact.

A good buy. I just picked up a security six with 400 rounds for 400.00

To me it sounds like he did not buy it "yet" he accepte on $250 but, "Is this good of a deal not to jump on it?" meaning you did not get it YET? I am confussed.

$250 for a ruger sounds like a steal...
+the box of ammo is probly $20?

here is some qoutes.
