Sometimes things seem to go just as planned. With just two days of season to go, my son shot this very-late-season buck late last night. Antlers have been shedded long ago but it's pretty big although young, probably three years old and 200lbs+.
Even though he has shot a lot of game over the years, this was his VERY FIRST WHITETAIL and he's over the moon now. We had sauna and a few beers afterwards, along with shots of Ratzeputz (google it, we were fresh out of Jägertee & Jägermeister, that's more or less the same thing but on serious steroids) to celebrate this.
Next season... another one like this but with antlers still intact. Something to look forward to.
