You can never have too many .22s, right? I've currently got 3 Ruger .22 pistols, and I do love them, but I'd kind of like to branch out. I'm not talking about selling any of my Rugers, but rather adding to the stable. This purchase might be a ways off, but I always like to have the choice made and know my price point, so that if I find a good deal, I'm prepared to jump on it.
I've read a bunch of good reviews about the S&W Victory, the Browning Buckmark, and the Beretta U22 Neos. The Beretta seems markedly less popular than the other two, though. Anybody have more than 1 of the three? I'd like to hear comparisons, but here is my current assessment of the three:
1. Berett Neos -- This one is my current front-runner, I think. I've been a science fiction nerd for a very long time now and I dig the look. Plain and simple. It looks like a hoot at the range, but no, there's no place around here that I can rent one. The only downside that I see is that I can't find a model with a threaded barrel. That's not a deal-breaker, though. I have other .22s that fill that slot.
2. S&W Victory -- This one can be had with a threaded barrel, which is a plus. I like the look, but I'll admit that I don't like it quite as much as the Neos. It's been a while since I held one, but I seem to recall liking the way it felt in the hand.
3. Browning Buckmark -- I've held one. It felt good in my hand, but these just don't seem to catch my interest the way the other two do. That said, they seem to come up in every "new .22" thread, and I'd hate to miss out on a truly great gun, just because I didn't think it was as pretty as the others.
