No, I don't need it. I want it.

You can never have too many .22s, right? I've currently got 3 Ruger .22 pistols, and I do love them, but I'd kind of like to branch out. I'm not talking about selling any of my Rugers, but rather adding to the stable. This purchase might be a ways off, but I always like to have the choice made and know my price point, so that if I find a good deal, I'm prepared to jump on it.

I've read a bunch of good reviews about the S&W Victory, the Browning Buckmark, and the Beretta U22 Neos. The Beretta seems markedly less popular than the other two, though. Anybody have more than 1 of the three? I'd like to hear comparisons, but here is my current assessment of the three:

1. Berett Neos -- This one is my current front-runner, I think. I've been a science fiction nerd for a very long time now and I dig the look. Plain and simple. It looks like a hoot at the range, but no, there's no place around here that I can rent one. The only downside that I see is that I can't find a model with a threaded barrel. That's not a deal-breaker, though. I have other .22s that fill that slot.

2. S&W Victory -- This one can be had with a threaded barrel, which is a plus. I like the look, but I'll admit that I don't like it quite as much as the Neos. It's been a while since I held one, but I seem to recall liking the way it felt in the hand.

3. Browning Buckmark -- I've held one. It felt good in my hand, but these just don't seem to catch my interest the way the other two do. That said, they seem to come up in every "new .22" thread, and I'd hate to miss out on a truly great gun, just because I didn't think it was as pretty as the others.

I have no input other than not being *moved* enough by any Buckmarks or Victories that have crossed my palm to prefer them over any of my vintage .22 autos but, I will eagerly await experienced comparisons of any two of the three.

I'm certainly willing to be swayed into one but so far, the heft & feel have done little for me.

Todd.

This may seem petty , but I am irritated with S&W recycling the name of the venerable WWll K frame .38 special revolver, so that one is out for me.
I thought that was pretty un-cool as well.

I recall when I first heard to the *new* Victory, I was psyched thinking the *Classic* line of S&Ws included a serious homage-piece like the retro 1911s others are offering.

It really queers internet searches too.

Todd.

There is a lot to be said for getting a look you like...and a Neos is a lot more attainable than a FN P90 (Stargate fan)

I've only shot a Neos once and it had some feeding issues. The Buckmark also felt ready nice in my hand, but I never bought one because it didn't do anything my Rugers wouldn't.

Have you considered moving a bit up-market to something like the

As mentioned in another thread, I have a S&W K22, a Ruger Single Six, a Ruger Standard (kind of like a Mark I), and a Browning Buck Mark.

The K22 is my favorite, but on any given day I will probably shoot the Buck Mark better than any of them.

It has the best sights and the best trigger.

Aside from the High Point, I can't think of an auto pistol I think is more ugly (having overly contrived and pretentious aspirations me thinks) than the Neos. Too kind, imo, to even call the looks "fugly". As much as I also love science fiction, I'm too much of a "traditionalist" when it comes to the appearance of firearms to ever contemplate buying a Neos, so my vote goes to the Browning (even the Victory has a little too much Buck Rogerish countenance for my admittedly prejudiced and subjective opinion).
And yet, I've always kind of liked the looks of the Whitney "Wolverine"...o_O Go figure!

Had a Buckmark with a bull barrel. It was a nice gun and shot straight. It did jam a few times but that was likely the cheap ammo I was using.

Ended up selling it off, but I’m just not really into rimfire. But I’d recommend the gun none the less.

"A bit" up-market?!? Goodness gracious, at those prices, I could buy all 3 for the price of the Hammerli or the Pardini. And the next time I read a post about a "Block 19," I'm breaking out a picture of that Hammerli. :p

I've had two Ruger Standards. Sold one and quickly regretted it. Fortunately, I was able to replace it, also quickly. I'm sure the K22 is a fine pistol, but I guess I'm just not a revolver guy.

After a brief but thorough selection process (no to the Walther P22, S&W 22A, and the SIG Mosquito), one of my kids decided to go with a Beretta Neos for their first handgun. Personally I'm not all that crazy about the styling but the gun is well designed and built. To me it seems a bit muzzle heavy with the 6" barrel but my kid loved the way it balanced and felt in their hand. The trigger is okay; a little mushy at first but finishes up nicely.

If the gun has one strong point going for it it's the magazine. Solidly constructed of stainless steel it also features a large tab on one side for easier reloading (ask me how I know)! I picked up 4 or 5 of them when we bought the gun and it was a good investment. It currently has an inexpensive red dot sight on it and has a slight preference for Federal Auto-Match ammo.

I owned a Neos, the 6” version. It was accurate and easy to scope with the top rail. Takedown is pretty simple as well. I ended up selling it and bought a Ruger MKIV because I wanted one I could tinker with and there is zero aftermarket for the Beretta. No one makes a holster for it either and I enjoy squirrel hunting with a pistol and didn’t really want to use a one size fits all nylon one, but a guy could if he wanted. If you plan on leaving it stock it’s a nice 22 especially at its lower price.

The infection is already invading my psyche.
A Single Six Hunter with red dot is in my crystal ball.
I can see it through the mists of time.

Squirrels shall fold and fall from the treetops.
Rabbits wont be safe in their briar patches.
Coyotes shall be sniped from long ranges.
Vermin will be eradicated from my farm.
Centers will be shot from targets....
....as soon as I get a single six hunter.

I had a Buckmark for awhile and have the Victory currently. The fiber optic sights on the victory are nice. My Buckmark wasn’t the most reliable feeder but it’s just one sample and most seem quite pleased with theirs. I have only handled the Neos and never shot one so I’m no help there. Obviously I have personally chosen the victory but I would imagine the other two will treat you well also. Which one feels best in the hand?

I just looked at my local range and discovered that they have a Victory for rent. No Buckmark or Neos, but it's still something.

If I can afford the item ...
The line between "need" and "want" is thin & blurry.
If I think about it enough, that line disappears then want = need.

I'd go with the Neos. It's different than what you already have and it's lots of fun to shoot. Plus it's at the top of your list. One of my brothers has one and I've shot it a bunch. His is reliable and accurate.

I have several Ruger M-II, a BuckMark a SW Victory, and SW M41. The Rugers have had trigger mods done, I put the TK trigger in the SW, The BuckMark is stock. The SW M41 is of course a M41!

When I go to the range the gun I grab is the Victory! It is more accurate than I am (the trigger made a difference) it is light but no to light and is Flawless

The best made guns are the Rugers and the M41, The Buckmark is a good looking gun. The Neos is just not my style.
