Looks classic to me. Were the old Weatherbys built on Mauser actions?
I see I'm not the only one to take a grouse with a .38. Were they flying? Mine was.View attachment 953842
Taking grouse with a Webly is satisfying.

Is that an El Paso Weaver on the 99? My .300 Savage 99 wears a K4.View attachment 953778 Let's see some pics of those old time rifles we're still hunting with!
I believe so. It's a weaver fixed 2.5, and quite old. The mounts are vintage Weaver tip-off as well. It's up at deer camp right now so I can't examine it for makers location. Is that n El Paso Weaver on the 99? My .300 Savage 99 wears a K4.

Nice looking rifle. Did the scope mount come with the rifle? What is the grip cap made of? Thank you for the most interesting pictures.buffalo i shot with a old MS IN 9.3X62.
Love the look of the full stock, although I admit to a preference for blued steel. Nice rifles and nice deer.Does a Ruger No. 1 count as a classic?View attachment 976732View attachment 976731 View attachment 976733

Looking for Cougar, on snowshoes with the Model 1895 Hungarian Styer. (Styre?) Still had a brace on my busted leg.
It’s loud and it recoils heavier than my 1B and 1V in 300 Win Mag, but it may still be my favorite of the bunch. It just feels good in the hands and on the shoulder. Plus, 30-06 is an absolute classic. That is beautiful. Compromises have to be made. It actually is a nice looking rifle. Do you notice any difference in muzzle blast when shooting long action rounds in an RSI short rifle?
