So, I have been seeing the ballistics of the new 6.5PRC and the fact that it is basically a magnum Creedmoor, and really a ballistic twin of the 6.5-284 but with a SAAMI spec chamber design, so I used our Chattanooga dealer account to order a Mossberg Patriot Predator in 6.5prc for 438 bucks,( with the second most expensive option being a hair over 500 bucks in the form of a Savage 110(not a bad choice, I don't mind the 110 models actually if they are the right price and configured the way I want) but the problem I had with them is that they only have a 2rd mag lol, the Mossberg has a 4rd mag so I'd rather have the higher capacity mag) a Hornady die set for 39 bucks and a 100ct box of 150gr .264" Sierra MatchKing bullets for 48 bucks. I don't have a scope for it yet but for now I'm using a Leupold RDS on the pic rail that it comes with. It's a very nice rifle actually, I have a walnut stock Patriot in 270 and it's a laser beam with really good group sizes so I have high hopes for this one. I put a VG6 6.5 Epsilon muzzle brake on it as it's threaded so that should make it easy shooting.
I loaded up 100 rounds of ammo with new Lapua brass and Retumbo powder and have seen Federal and Hornady factory ammo around me here in OKC for around 50 bucks a box. The photo comparison of the bullets is a .264, .277, and .308 150gr bullet respectively. You can see just how long the 150gr .264 bullet is compared to the stubby .308 bullet lol. I also have a comparison of the 150gr SMK to a 220gr .308 SMK.
