I keep threatening to buy a buddy a High Point T-shirt, but can never find one cheap enough... ;)
Sorry, life is just too short for such things for me, personally. I'm not a gun snob, but I do like nice machinery.
YMMV. :)

thanks! wish I could say I didn’t care, but I would be lieing to myself.

I personally thing High points are good looking guns! has a 90’s nostalgia to them
Why do you or anyone else care what others think? Your life live it the way you want. Don’t buy $300 shoes to impress anyone. If a woman want date ya cause you wear cheap clothes then she ain’t the one. If the guy in the next stall snickers at your hi point what ever. Blow out the ten ring on your target and snicker at his shotgun pattern target. Life is to short to care what others think!

alright… my local had a C9 compact for $175! after 10% tax. = $192.50

should I pull the High Point trigger!!!???

That all depends. Is owning a Hi Point & getting to play with it & figure out whether you like it or not worth $175 to you?

Years ago I was at a gun show & a guy had a table full of them for $99 dollars a piece. I was very tempted to buy one just because of the price. Just something to mess with really. I decided it wasn't worth it to me. It might be to you but you are the only one who can make that decision. No judgement from me either way. It is your life & your money.

I have no idea. Since it is your money it's your decision to make. When I bought mine years ago they were much cheaper just like everything else was. I actually bought plinking ammo for it for less than 4 bucks for a box of 50. I got almost as much as I gave for it as a trade in a couple of years later. Is that possible today?

Being honest I wouldn't have one today except for mine being a gift.

I don't care what anyone thinks of what I bring to the range and I bet most others at the range feel the same way. That said I would never buy a Hi Point. Ammo is not cheap anymore and I personally would not want to waste it shooting in a Hi Point handgun but it's good that there are firearms available for most every budget.

And I personally like to each his own. While you may not have a Hi Point, you shouldn't at all object to Mark_Mark having 1 or 5 of them if he wishes, you should support his right to choose. That is one of the things that makes this country greater than all others, the right to choose. If Mark_Mark wants to have them, you all should support his right to have them. Don't lose track of what this country was founded on just because you don't like his choice, you should support it!

If one were "prepper" inclined, picking up a case of Hipoint pistols and carbines would be a no-brainer as you could arm an entire family clan/survival community with basic, simple to use weapons that all take common magazines for very little $$.
The money you save could go a long way towards ammo and other Apocalypse essentials, such whiskey and smokes.....:)

From what all I read about them is that Hi Points are accurate, largely due to the fixed barrel. So, if accuracy is what you enjoy I can't say shooting a Hi Point is a waste.

100%!!!

The triggers are pretty terrible, certainly not conducive to accuracy.
The couple C9s I shot were reliable enough, but recoiled like a .45.
Trigger can be improved, but it can also be learned. I have shot the .40 Hi Point and it felt fine, the .45 model I just got I haven't, but expect it to feel the same. Both have a longer grip than the c9, that makes a big difference in feel.

You do you brah, but I work too hard for my money to waste it on multiple pieces of ugly garbage.

Honestly, the phrasing for your "no" reply on the vote was waaaay too mild for my taste.
Thanks Brah!!!

I really think High Point is a good looking gun!

Some rather unnecessary finger-wagging here. Has anyone hinted in any way at being opposed to his right to buy as many Hi-Points as he wants?

I have one, bring it to the range without a problem. Will even lay it next to my Wilson Combat CQB Compact.
A gun is a gun. Even a Hi Point is better than empty hands
