I'm considering a Sig P365 as my next 9mm purchase. My question is what model Glock is the closest in size to the 365 and of the two which would you recommend?
The dimensions are available on the manufacturer's respective websites. Off hand, I'd agree with TacticalJanitor on the G43 being closest. If possible, go to a range where you can rent both and pick whichever one strikes your fancy. They're both fine weapons.I'm considering a Sig P365 as my next 9mm purchase. key point.I'd say that a G43 is closest in size to a P365 in size, but the G43X is closest in capacity.
Are you saying the G43X has better sights and trigger than the P365 or was that a typo?Brubz
Not quite what you were asking about but I have a SIG P365X and a Glock G43X. The SIG is slightly smaller than the Glock in height and length, the width is the about the same, and the Glock weighs nearly an ounce more that the SIG.
Purely subjective both feel great in my hand with a slight edge to the P365X in overall ergos. It also has the better trigger and sights on the G43X. I bought the SIG first then went back a couple of weeks later and got the Glock G48 (because I liked it too), and besides, they were out of the G43X anyways! Waited a short while until the gun shop had some more in and picked one up!

The closest in size Glock for SIG P365 is Glock 42. However, that is in .380. The Glock 43 is the next biggest and it's somewhat larger, despite only having 6 round magazine. Note that although they are about the same size, G42 is noticeably lighter than P365. I think both have a lot going to them. If you can deal with the weight and recoil, as well as being about 10% thicker, P365 is clearly the way to go. Otherwise G42 is the choice. The G43 is pretty much outclassed by P365 in every regard. My question is what model Glock is the closest in size to the 365 and of the two which would you recommend?
Thanks for responding but I said in the OP " my next 9mm" as you pointed out the G42 is not a 9mm.The closest in size Glock for SIG P365 is Glock 42. However, that is in .380. For me, the 365X was "goldilocks"
And the native 12 round grip on the X was key to that (although you want a loader for the first hundred or so round run in those 12 round mags).
Gets to splitting hairs on size:

Officer's is all of 11mm longer than a 365X, near the same width.

In a proper holster, that centimeter might not matter so much.
But, each one of us is different, so our individual mileage will vary.
What's a "manual trigger safety"?My biggest reason for not buying a Glock is the lack of a manual trigger safety, and the trigger dongle that things can get caught on.
What's a "manual trigger safety"?
From the phrase, I would read a “manual trigger safety” AS the little dongle on a Glock trigger. It’s manual, it’s on the trigger, and it’s a safety catch.
But what exactly is the "trigger safety" you refer to? Are you talking about a the safety on some P365's that is controlled with the thumb? The trigger dongle is a striker safety that just happens to be located on the trigger. If you squeeze the trigger on a loaded Glock with a cocked striker, the Glock goes Bang!
If you squeeze the trigger on a P365 with a manual trigger safety engaged, it does NOT go bang.
Huge difference.
