Ahhhh, I see you follow the JT Patent Pending process.Took the 9mm brass out of the tumbler. Put it in yesterday afternoon, went to dinner, forgot about it. 17 hours later, it is shiny...

Someday it will be nice to use the new Garmin…..
I agree with your assessment of the turret & slop. That's why I quit using it.I made some dummy rounds to see at what OAL they would plunk . I decided to play with the new to me Lee Classic Breech Lock press that I bought from a guy selling out a few weeks ago . I think that I like it better than my Classic Turret press . It has less slop in the dies than the turret . My seating was more consistent and I was using a ram prime and the primer were also more consistent than on my turret press . I also used the Challenger press that I bought from him to deprime the cases . I didn’t like it , it’s not near as smooth as the Classic presses are and would gaul up where you could hardly work the ram .
One of the cheat codes is to warm your bullets before coating. Not hot the powder will clump.i don't have a measured number but warm to the touch so 130 ish... then shake.Made 2, and final, failed attempts at powder coating, then lube/sized with SPG a couple hundred 45Colt boolits.

The press , I just loosened the bolts some where the chrome part attaches and hinges . That seems like that fixed it . We will see the next time that I use it . But it feels a lot smoother now .I agree with your assessment of the turret & slop. That's why I quit using it.
I don't understand the galling comment...is it the press or the brass cases?
Bolts should not be cranked down, just tight enough to keep the slack out. Keep it lubed at the pivot points with STP or a good grease. Ram, too. That press should last a long time. The press , I just loosened the bolts some where the chrome part attaches and hinges . That seems like that fixed it . We will see the next time that I use it . It's a high of 60 here, but I'm going to push through and get er done..Chamfered and deburred, brushed the necks, cleaned the primer pockets and primed the other 50 Lapua 6mm BR cases.
Loaded 33 rounds each at 31.6gr and 32.8gr of Varget over a BR-4 primer and a 75gr Hornady V-Max bullet.
It seems like it will be too cold to go shooting today with temps in the single digits.
I can load some 6.5 Creedmoor, 338 Lapua and/or 5.7x28.
I also have 50 pieces of Winchester 30-06 brass that has been sitting on my bench for a long time to prep for my M1 Garand.
I can also powder coat some of the 2,000 9mm bullets I had cast a few weeks ago.
Decisions, decisions, decisions.
Looks new.The press , I just loosened the bolts some where the chrome part attaches and hinges . That seems like that fixed it . We will see the next time that I use it . But it feels a lot smoother now . View attachment 1201239
Everything that I bought from the guy selling out and getting out of reloading and shooting looked almost new . He even still had the box for the classic press .Looks new.
That's the one I use for all my expanding/priming (using Lee safety prime) for 9mm & 45acp.
So does it get in the way at supper time?Everything that I bought from the guy selling out and getting out of reloading and shooting looked almost new . He even still had the box for the classic press .
I guess you can tell that I am divorced and single . The finish on that table was looking bad and I was going to replace it . Then I thought , you live alone , you never eat at the table anyway , you need a reloading bench , there is a great view , plenty of natural light , it is heated and cooled and close to the refrigerator , so I got the drill out . It has worked out well for me . I have 3 presses mounted to it now and a powder measurer . There is still plenty of room to eat though LOL .So does it get in the way at supper time?
