What have you done in the reloading room today

Made 57 wadcutters on my new Lyman ideal. It’s very accurate. My COAL number spread is much tighter on the bench press than the LEE hand press. Every round was dead nuts on 1.210 right were I set it. I’m very pleased

Finished off my initial supply of Berrys wadcutters with 10 dozen 357 magnum loads. I’m officially out of Winchester SPP and the matching number of Berrys 148 grain DEWC. Still have to load a few 357s to replenish my supply of 158 grain SWC rounds. After that I’m set on revolver ammo for a while.

I made some dummy rounds to see at what OAL they would plunk . I decided to play with the new to me Lee Classic Breech Lock press that I bought from a guy selling out a few weeks ago . I think that I like it better than my Classic Turret press . It has less slop in the dies than the turret . My seating was more consistent and I was using a ram prime and the primer were also more consistent than on my turret press . I also used the Challenger press that I bought from him to deprime the cases . I didn’t like it , it’s not near as smooth as the Classic presses are and would gaul up where you could hardly work the ram .

Edited to say that I think that I fixed it . I think the bolts where it hinges were too tight and I just kept loosening them in small turns until the ram moved smoothly .

I was going to work up a load for my unfired Colt 1911 today , but it is too windy for that today .

I agree with your assessment of the turret & slop. That's why I quit using it.

I don't understand the galling comment...is it the press or the brass cases?

Made 2, and final, failed attempts at powder coating, then lube/sized with SPG a couple hundred 45Colt boolits.
One of the cheat codes is to warm your bullets before coating. Not hot the powder will clump.i don't have a measured number but warm to the touch so 130 ish... then shake.
The other cheat is to vibratory tumble for 20 minutes or so in powder. I haven't done this one...

I finished prepping the 308 brass last night. (Took FOREVER!!!!) then I started cleaning up my “buzz-bucket” for a all clean brass polish only operation experiment. I was cleaning it out and with the awkward 1 arm fiddling I dropped it on my foot. No damage to anything or anyone, but I decided it was time to stop. I rigged up a ratchet strap to hang from the floor joists overhead to help set my new LnL ap when it arrives. I figured I can figure that out one handed.

Chamfered and deburred, brushed the necks, cleaned the primer pockets and primed the other 50 Lapua 6mm BR cases.
Loaded 33 rounds each at 31.6gr and 32.8gr of Varget over a BR-4 primer and a 75gr Hornady V-Max bullet.

It seems like it will be too cold to go shooting today with temps in the single digits.
I can load some 6.5 Creedmoor, 338 Lapua and/or 5.7x28.
I also have 50 pieces of Winchester 30-06 brass that has been sitting on my bench for a long time to prep for my M1 Garand.

I can also powder coat some of the 2,000 9mm bullets I had cast a few weeks ago.
Decisions, decisions, decisions.

The press , I just loosened the bolts some where the chrome part attaches and hinges . That seems like that fixed it . We will see the next time that I use it . But it feels a lot smoother now . IMG_2411.jpeg

Bolts should not be cranked down, just tight enough to keep the slack out. Keep it lubed at the pivot points with STP or a good grease. Ram, too. That press should last a long time.

It's a high of 60 here, but I'm going to push through and get er done.. 😁
I assembled 28 tuning rounds for the 6x45 to get the gas block dialed in and function testing. This will be her first trip out and the bullets were pull downs sitting in a box from my dad... the tips were fuzzy white, so it's time for them to be gone.... I couldn't immage a better purpose....

Looks new.

That's the one I use for all my expanding/priming (using Lee safety prime) for 9mm & 45acp.

So does it get in the way at supper time?
I guess you can tell that I am divorced and single . The finish on that table was looking bad and I was going to replace it . Then I thought , you live alone , you never eat at the table anyway , you need a reloading bench , there is a great view , plenty of natural light , it is heated and cooled and close to the refrigerator , so I got the drill out . It has worked out well for me . I have 3 presses mounted to it now and a powder measurer . There is still plenty of room to eat though LOL . IMG_2413.jpeg IMG_2412.jpeg

Loaded up 100 .45ACP using the Servicios Aventuras Small Pistol Primers I bought from the Norma site about a month ago. I've already tested the primers in my .38 special revolvers without any issues. I plan on getting to the range tomorrow and test them out with my G21 and S&W 1911 to see if they go "bang".

Edited to add that I'm reloading .45 and .38 special on my Dillon SDB.

I knocked out 40 rounds of 762 this morning using the M80 Load Data for Win 748 powder. That was the first time that I used 748 and it really flowed well in my FA powder drop.

I got my Lee Crimp Die back from Lee yesterday. Lee had to polish the carbide ring so it would no longer put scratches in my 10mm brass. I put it to work right away.

Over the past year and a half, I have purchased 3K+ of once fired 10mm range brass and 700 new 10mm cases. 98% of this range brass has the Glock Bulge. After finishing the 762 reloads I set up my Lee Bulge Buster using my returned Lee 10mm Carbide Crimp Die in the bulge buster. I did get a bunch through the bulge buster this morning. Everything worked really well and my 10mm cases dropped right into my case gauge after going through the bulge buster. It is going to take me a few days to process all of that bulged 10mm brass through the bulge buster.

The brass in the plastic jug is de-bulged 10mm brass.

Yesterday afternoon a guy on one of the local gun forums that has never reloaded came over snd loaded up some 280 Nosler test rounds.
And another friend that came over a couple of years ago to check out how to reload came over last night and set up one of my 550 dillion presses for 357mag.
My grandson want to get into Cowboy action shooting, in the last two weeks I spent $3,000 on a 1897 -12 gauge pump shotgun, two 357 magnum single action revolvers, a 1980 -367 magnum Marlin lever action rifle and then I bought two 80% ar15 lowers with the lower kits parts for myself.
I will be getting them machined here shortly. I have a 300 blackout rifle upper and want to pick up a 300 blackout pistol upper next month.
Last night we loaded up some 357 magnum 158 grain rounds to try out and see how they work.
