Alright folks like the title says let me know what you have done today me I worked on some 223 for my ar deprimed 100 pieces so what about anybody else?

I powdercoated and sized another round of noe-454-280-rnfp. I have 1/3 of a container. I hope to be full before I shoot up the rest of the 250s so I am loading and storing one bullet.... currently my loaded supply is all over the map with bullet weights and charges.... in mixed brass 🤬

My Wilson trimmer came yesterday and I set it up and trimmed a few cases this afternoon. This thing is a solid piece of precision equipment. I have favorite reloading tools I use on the bench and this one went amongst those at the top!

I woke up this morning with a fever of 101. So… I did wobble down to the bench long enough to sort some 5.56/.223 brass.
ETA:another day off work i wasn’t planning. I don’t like using my pto for stuff that’s boring like being sick. Haha.

Built 6 rounds of .357 with weighed charges, and 6 rounds thrown.
Tomorrow, they get chronographed for consistency, just for fun.

Loaded up 150 rounds of .38 Special with the 158 gr. bullets cast earlier this week. I keep it pretty mild with 3.5 gr. of HP-38.

...Been trying to replenish the stock. I got the father-in-law hooked on shooting and he's putting his beat up Victory revolver to work, along with my press... Going through .38 Special twice as fast now -- and I was already burning it up quick by myself once I learned how to casually summon up more...

Resources being the exact same 357 gets more play at my house because Silhouette goes 100 or 200 yards depending on the range. If your casting yourself boolits are about 7 cents. In a heavy pistol 3.4 grains of red dot seems powder puff.

Sadly no .357 here -- though I've been seriously eyeing leverguns to fix this problem. I started casting for cap and ball revolvers and quickly realized it wasn't much more of a jump to cartridges.

Still new and learning the ropes, I haven't been bold enough to push max charge yet. On the flipside, the tame loading has been great for the father-in-law to learn the basics. ...It was extremely amusing taking him to the range for the first time and discovering it literally was the first time. Complete mental change of gears "Ok, I guess we're starting at the beginning with range etiquette and whatnot..." quickly followed up with "NO, don't wrap your hand around the cylinder or whatever that grip is!?!"

Yeah mind the gap.... it bites

As long as I was looking through my primers trying to find my partially used box of small rifle primers, I figured I'd update my inventory of primers.

Then I found my partially used box of small rifle primers 🥳, so I primed 50 pieces of 223.

Not in the loading room but in the garage. I dumped a couple of buckets of junk brass into a shallow box and ran a magnet threw it. It was a good thing that I did because I found about a dozen plated steel cases and the scrap yard probably would have dinged me pretty heavy for those. I also dumped all of my Steel and Zinc wheelweights out of 5 gallon buckets into 2 gallon buckets so I can load them in my truck next week for a trip to the scrap yard. I used to load 5 gallon buckets of lead by myself, but not anymore! :(

In the immortal words of the late, great Dean Martin, ain't that a kick in the head.

I bagged up this brass. And then used my label maker in the reloading room to label the various lengths of Christmas Tree branches in numbers (1-6 btw) instead of the worthless colored tape that all fell off. IMG_2932.jpeg

Worked reseting my 308 sizing die for the t-7 and processed 50 pieces of Hornaday range pickups to the priming point. Rain on Sunday means they will likely loaded then.

Powder coated some Roundnose .45acp boolits and cast up several hundred SWC boolits of the same caliber.

Loaded a box of. 32 Smith and Wesson. I love loading the more obscure, obsolete and unusual rounds.

Prepped another 100 Hornaday cases and loaded 150 including those prepared last night. Used 168 Hornaday bthp over 41.5 imr 4895. I should start unloading them soon. 20231209_160132.jpg

I’m using my reloading bench to wrap Christmas presents and to work on a woodworking project. (My pellet stove is currently on the blink in the shop) I did swing through Scheels this morning in the process of some Christmas shopping, and guess what they had in the cabinet? I made use of a couple gift cards I had, and it cost me three dollars out of my pocket :) after the gift cards that is. It’s nice to see a couple more pounds on the shelf.
