What have you done in the reloading room today

Last night after the kids went to bed I put together 100 357 with 10.6 blue dot over my cast 156 noe. Being my third pound of blue dot I finally got a pound with a few blue flakes in it. My previous 2 pounds didnt....

Dry tumbled some 357 and 9mm brass, de dusted them and gave them a coat of One Shot.

Loaded some 9mm Luger with Speer brass, Rem 5-1/2 primers, 4.4 grains W231 under Sinterfire 100 grain FP frangibles @ 1.125”.

They shot well, 1.5” @ 50 yards in the PCC, but were defeated by my carbine’s favorite practice load with Xtreme 124 PFP’s (.354”) shooting solid 1” groups.

I like using that One shot instead of that RCBS paste lube. I made some more 223 Remington 55gr fmj 23.9gr of Win 748 Win srp @ 2.250

Ran a load of brass in the wet tumbler, it's drying now. While that was going I cleaned up and wiped down my bench, it definitely needed it!

Loaded up another 100 357 with blue dot. Up to 400 ish, I'll see how many cases I have and when I run out of Winchester I'll probably stop... 20231211_212839.jpg
I also used my freshly repaired lathe (thanks again jmorris)to make a 45 caliber push rod for my noe sizing system... not perfect but functional... my second project ever!!!! 17023196088828561954780230151895.jpg
35 cal noe and bolt used as stock. 17023232925782499493681639407242.jpg
Noe 35 and ajc enerprizes 45 cal.

Cleaned my 9mm dies. I figure I’m up to 2000-2250 rounds on a set of second hand dies from a pawn shop. They both needed and deserved a good cleaning.

Spent several hours trimming, deburing, chamfering, trimming the flash hole and priming 500 pieces of Winchester 357.... my paws are sore and I'm done for the day!!!! 20231212_180213.jpg

Sorted the brass I tumbled last night, and had to label a new tote for .300 Blackout brass.

Replaced a bent pin in me Lee universal decapper. Decapped 2 Hornady 380 brass out of the big batch of pistol brass I just ran tonight in hot water, dawn, and no pins to gt the “brush and bullfrogs” out of it.

They are good for one or two tweaks back straight before they break off.
It’s had one. And the “ball” on the end after who knows how many thousands needed dremel work. So I May work it over so I have 2 spares. lol.

Just be careful if you have any premium brass... lapua Palma 308, 6br or others, as they have a small flash hole.

I've had a brass buzzard picking my cases off the ground almost as fast as they were ejecting from the pistol. We had words...
If I saw someone shooting "my calibers" I always asked if they want their brass, and if not may I have it?

Surprisingly, many picked it up at break and gave it to me.

I didn't meet the buzzard, probably because it was obvious I retrieved my own plus any unclaimed at my position.

Used the most obnoxious color nail polish, thinned, as primer sealer to act as my witness mark in case of argument.

Any guesses as to how we all inevitably learn that lesson in spite of “knowing”… 🤣🤣

In my good fortune I saw a guy shooting 7.7 last trip. He was just ejecting them out without a care in the world. I definitely asked. But I was all over them. For everything but semi autos I eject them into my hand... mostly to keep them clean and undamaged....

But... that does take some of the fun out of it. I love racking the bolt, or lever, or whatever... but, having said that, I also hate chasing brass. *sigh*

This morning I started moving my lead stash from the middle of the garage floor where it ended up after our move to the truck toolbox that I set up to store it in. I'm going to have to improve my process! I moved about a half of a milk crate (350# or so) before I got tired. This is going to be a big job for an old crippled guy in a wheelchair! And I'm still picking up weights when I run across them!
