What have you done in the reloading room today

I found part of a box of 140gr SSTs I knew I had, but somehow my box of 130 gr TGKs, 145 ELD-X, and another box have magically disappeared from my bullet shelf… time to hunt a bit further I guess… that’s all I’m getting done today… 😴

Your the young pup here, no putting in a safe place being tolerated in these parts 🤣

Amazon delivered the foam for my Range Reload Kit, so I may try and get that cut in to the case today. I was supposed to pick up a gun at the store, but I got busy and never got around to it. Tomorrow maybe. Friday for sure.

I have to say, gents, that one of the best bench items I have ever bought is my new drafting chair that is high enough for the bench to be comfortable, with a full back rest and lumbar support, flip up armrests, a foot-rest and adjustable seat height. It's a game-changer for me during long hours at the bench. I didn't mind the stool I was using for the last few decades, but it got to my back after a while;

I dunno, man...that looks waaaaay too comfortable! I would probably zonk out for a good snooze and get nothing reloaded.

Went down and did some more hunting this morning… nothing… I’m wondering if I might’ve given them to a buddy.

I've been there. I'm fairly good at putting something in "The Perfect Spot" where I think I can find it, and then it becomes hidden so well that I lose it for months. As it turns out, "The Perfect Spot" would be perfect for things that I never want to see again.

Never happen in my room. I've nicknamed my stool 'Iron Maiden".

I bought a reloading bench stool at Sams Club circa 2004 ish. A very hard, flat wooden seat. I finally bought a pillow top for it two years ago from Amazon. Then my back asked me for relief, so I went with the drafting chair last week. The stool was moved to my regular workbench so it's not retired, just relocated..

"Iron Maiden". That gave me a chuckle! Thanks. :p

Got the Garmin and it's charging up... working on downloading and figuring out the app.... I also got my set of rcbs 7.7 dies.... probably be playing with those in a bit, building a dummy round with lead to work the ballistic programs with.....View attachment 1208745

Fantastic. I would get one as well, but I have too many firearms on the shopping list at present, and $ is finite. I am looking forward to your posts with this, because one day, I will have one. Just not this day.

I'm at the bench for a little after dinner reloading. Just another 50 rounds of 9mm for tomorrow. I'm finally picking up that Hi-Point 995 Series II 9mm carbine, and heading straight to the range with it. It will be a pleasure to again start chipping away at the plethora of 9mm components I have stockpiled.

4.9 grs W231, CCI primers, 115gr JHP, new-old-stock Winchester brass (1995 ish)

I am also trying my new Lyman Pan/Funnel to see how I like it. If it works as expected (don't see why not), I will dedicate it to the Range Reloading Kit I am building.

That’s a handy pan/funnel! I use mine a lot.

Thanks! I'm about 25 carts in right now. It works great! It's now dedicated to my new Range Reloading Kit. Sure beats having a separate pan and funnel in the field. I am going to get one for the home bench as well.

I wonder if there is any difference in the RCBS model VS the Lyman? Probably not, other than the RCBS model is slightly higher in cost. Barely. Like 2 bucks. I am going to order the RCBS for the home bench just to compare the two for design and powder flow into the cartridge. There will probably be no difference in use. Perhaps just a few minor design differences.

I’ve been busy tonight. PC’d and Alox’d about 100 44 cal SWC’s ( final batch of the 500). Put my new stocks on my 67-6 and did a leather repair on my vintage black sheep pistol rug. Size these slugs tomorrow and this weekend load 50 44 cases with w244 powder

The spending never ends, I'm just tired of fighting the old one....

I keep cheaping out, and not buying the Garmin... then I go out and set up my old Chrony, with skyscreens held together with duct tape, and cardboard 'glare' shields, mounted on my old Slik U212 that is falling apart... and grumble to myself for being too cheap, sometimes, for my own good.

I actually went into the reloading room this morning! ...to do something besides cleaning firearms. Went to the range Wednesday to crank off some .41's, and try out my new Kahr TP9 with newly mounted weapons light. Sorted all the brass out and threw the .41's into the walnut for a day or so. For those of you who shoot .41... did you know that when you put a 9mm case into a .41 case, and throw it in a vibratory tumbler, it will very nearly weld itself together? I'm pretty careful when I sort my .41 brass for this reason... but I missed 2. Or maybe I'm a trendsetter... the new 9-41 SuperDoubleExtra wildcat cartridge. Or not.

Sized 122 .41 cases and set them aside for primer pocket inspection and prep later. Some of the test loads were with IMR4227, which tends to form moon rock in the primer pockets of the .41 brass, so the next primer will not seat flush.

What an up and down day. I make a 1 hour trek to a large chain outdoor store with a gun department to purchase that Hi-Point 9mm Carbine. They had turned me away twice before claiming they were too short-staffed to sell guns that day. I called last night, confirmed they would be open for business and sell me the gun. They said yes. Got there at 10:30 AM. The sales guy said, "Sorry, we're closed. I have to do inventory today. Come back tomorrow." That was strike 3. They are off the list forever. But that's what I get for trying to save a few bucks with a large national chain.

I called my local gun shop. He has one, and put it aside for me. I am picking it up tomorrow morning. A few bucks more than the big box chain store, but at least he will sell it to me and not tell me "The Gun Sales Department Is Closed" when I get there at 10:30 AM.

Picked up a few more powders while out. And I got a shipment of Lee Breech Lock accessories, including a Rock Chucker Press Breech Lock adapter in case I ever want to use a Lee Breech Lock Die in my RC press.

Loaded up 198 rounds of 41 mag, coated 215 grain and 210 grain xtp’s ladder loads of unique for the lead, 296 and trying some enforcer with the xtp’s. For those with ocd I used the 2 left over cases for dummy rounds so all are accounted for. But what about the left over primers??? Oh no…
Those went into the until next time stash.

That's a bunch of horse-hockey. Go on Yelp and expose their stupidity for the world to see.
