Tracer ammo uses a hotter powder to ignite the tracer pellet at the base of the bullet (I Think it's WC846T) Standard 855 ball uses WC846 - Tracer powder DOES affect your bore, but probably not enough to notice if you shoot a couple hundred rounds. (IMHO) Chris R Bohica Arms Corp.
