Bohica ar 50bmg uppers for under $1k

I dropped him a email a couple of weeks ago and not heard back. I was just wondering if he was shipping soon. Want to make sure i have the money ready, just in case something else new catches my eye in the mean. No hurry on my part, just would like to know when about i need to have the money ready.

I placed my order a week ago and Mine (30") will not ship till March! I guess business is REALLY good lately! The Packages that Long Range Supply sells with the nightforce Scopes are amazing price!! I may have to go that route!
It basically boils down to a 900 dollar upper and 400 dollars off the scope!

Whats the advantage of the "Match" chamber? And will it likely matter at all with surplus ammo?

Match chambers don't like surplus ammo, it can work but it will probably piss you off a lot.

Wow, MUCH cheaper than my Barrett Model 99 (bought 4 years ago).

Chris just called me...my name came up! The uppers are being shiiped with a lot of product improvements...lots of steel instead of aluminum, investment castings vs. laser cut sheet steel, better muzzle brake, etc.
I should have it in 10 days. I'll post results after I get to shoot it.

I don't mean to derail the discussion here, but is Bohica Arms the same company as Bohica Tool which was building some real cool looking .50 Beowulf pistol/SBR uppers with a tank brake? (Bohica Tool's site seems to have gone down and been replaced by a redirect page)

Nope not us - There was another BOHICA out of Colorado sometime ago. I get ATF trace requests for them once in a while.

Glad to get the phone call tonight. Can't wait to get the upper. Its a late christmas present for me.
I am glad to hear about the improvments to the upper, More then happy to have waited a while longer to get the improvements in.

I think he is filling orders that were placed last August right now (at least according to the arfcom thread on it). Chris said his waiting list is in the several hundred uppers long so I'm sure he is methodically working through it.

I really appreciate all the orders, feedback and support.
I want to help bring people up to speed regarding the MKII FAR50's
First off here are many of the improved features
- 1 Peice reciever with integrated extraction cam
- Upper has been modified to work with unmodded M-16 hammers
- Upper has been modified to eliminate problems caused by out of spec buffer tubes.
- Upper has been modified to eliminate all known fit problems w/ RRA & Stag lowers.
- Steel freefloat block
- Steel Picatinny rail (Standard)
- Steel support rail
- New muzzle brake design (10 ports)
- New Bipod locking design for positive lock up & down
- New bipod leg assembly with heavy duty cast steel feet.
- Heavier duty extractor & spring design
- Modified Bolt head design
- Chrome plated Bolt head
- Black Zinc plated bolt tube
- Low friction firing pin coating
New options include:
- Threaded Barrel nut for YHM Quadrail type handguards

The transion to the MKII has been a much longer process than I had anticipated. It has taken a huge amount of time and money to re-design and produce all of the tooling, fixtures and machinery to get this into a larger scale production than I had ever intended.
We HOPE to have our production backlog (i.e. wait list) cleared up by the end of April - at wich point I will be adding a new trainee to the team. (with God's good graces, Britta Rosequist will be born April 30th)
I really appreciate the response that this forum has generated, Thanks to all of the paitent (and mostly paitent) customers out there!

- Yes it's true, We're throwing our hat into the ring with a Semi-Auto 50 BMG rifle as well. But in true BOHICA fashion we're doing it with a BANG!.
We will have a proto on display at the Tulsa Show in April and will begin taking orders there. Delivery will begin within 4-6 WEEKS of the Tulsa show!!!!
I don't want to turn this into a striptease so I will not post photos until after the Tulsa show. But I will give some basic specs (subject to possible change):

Big news! Apparently the first batches of MkII's are shipping this week. Plus, one of the guys over at arfcom spent the day with him and snapped a bunch of pictures and made a demo video as well.
Enjoy. Ordered mine last Aug/Sept, paid for in January...maybe this month for me, then. New orders are reportedly on a 14 week cycle time.
