    Ohio Members: Cool gun ranges?

I live in central ohio and the only decent outdoor range is a state one in deer creek state park with a 100 yard, 50 yard, and 25 yard range. It's decent enough, but sometimes you just want a little more. I'm wanting to find a nice range that has 50 , 100, and then some long range 200-300...

    Marlin 60 help

Uploaded with ImageShack.us Hopefully you can see, that wire looks like it should run parallel to that metal piece, but it somehow is bent, and because of that I can't fit it onto the other piece. I've been looking around, and it seems like that piece is supposed to be like that... so I don't...

    Marlin 60 help

I posted a few days ago about my recoil spring braking, well I received my new one in the mail today, and I go back to put it together. Well, the piece that goes on top of the piece that the recoil spring is connected to, on the side opposite of the close bolt lever, there is a small wire that...

    Marlin 60 broken spring

Thanks ForumSurfer, I probably shouldn't have even bothered cleaning it after 100 rounds but I always hear how you need to clean it after every few shoots or whatever, but that sounds a lot better haha. Do you know why the bolt might be stuck though?

    Marlin 60 broken spring

the bends arn't horribly bad, but I can't really get them to budge. Is there a trick when putting it back together? I can't get the spring to perfectly coil to allow me to slip that part back in.

    Marlin 60 broken spring

I bought my first rifle a couple days ago, and after shooting it a few times, I decided to clean it for the first time and learn how to do everything. Well, I got it cleaned and while putting it back together, I was having trouble getting what I believe is the recoil spring back in, and I got...

Alright, one last question haha, between a 20 gauge and a .22 rifle of some sort, which would you recommend for a first gun to learn on, as well as emergency home defense?

    Beginner looking to start shooting

I've honestly shot a weapon twice in my entire life, and it was a pistol haha. I've lived in a city my entire life and not much of my family was into guns, so I never really got to have any experience with them. I was talking to a couple people, and obviously the 20 is a bit easier to handle...

    Beginner looking to start shooting

I've recently took an interest in firearms, and would like to finally get my first one. I was deciding between a rifle and a shotgun, and so far I'm leaning towards something like a 20 gauge shotgun. If you were in my position, which brand/gun would you get? My price range is probably about...
