Why cant you use it for deer. Its chambered in .308, so it will kill them. 4 in off the barrel would work alot better for walking around in the woods.

I already have a .270 hunting rifle. I just figured for 450 bucks a nice tactical varmint grade rem 700 would be nice.

There is a rifle at the dicks sporting goods by my house that has a rifle on sale that is interesting. It has a 26" bull barrel, which makes it pretty front heavy and heavy in general. How much would it cost to have this barrel cut down to 22". Thanks

No not parkerized, its not shiny though its got s walnut stock, not laminated wood. I cant get any pics there on my friends camera mine died when i tried to take a picture.

It was the first time ive ever been turkey hunting too( guess you could say im spoiled). It was a tom, weighed 19 pounds, 10 in beard and both spurs were 1 1/8" long. Finally got some blood on my new 11-87 too. Shot it around 46 yards out.

I hunt and i dont feel guilty about killing animals. Although i will never forget the first time i saw i dying deer stare up at me with those big eyes. You just have to try to kill whatever animal your hunting as fast and painless as possible.

Remington 700 any model you like all good. Just get 700 not 770 or 710. I like .270 and .308. I like savage and Winchester rifles too, but Remington gets my #1 spot.
