One of my favorite plinking loads for the 44 Magnum is 8.9 grs BE-86 under a 240 gr SNS Coated SWC. It chronographs at 1087.6 fps (10 shot average) out of a 7 1/2 inch barrel). It is as accurate as I am and has an SD of 5.2 FPS.
I finally got around to chronographing some 9mm loads. The first load was 5.6 grs of BE-86 under a 125 gr Zero FMJ/FN, the results were as follows.
4.25 inch barrel velocity average of 10 shots=1164.3 FPS SD=8.6
3.1 inch barrel velocity average of 10 shots=1083.3 FPS SD=5.9

Since Alliant does not list start Loads. I decided to load up some 45 ACP start loads by reducing thier max loads by about 10%. I used 6.1 grs of BE-86 under a 200 gr SNS Coated LRNFN with the following results;

The thing that surprised me the most was Speer #14 reloading manual. Go to Amazon.com and search for Speer #14,they don't have any in stock, but there are offers to sell starting at about $250.00 up to over $500.00. Amazing!!! By the way, I have two, but they are not for sale.:)
