I like the way the finger grooves on the 66 feel, and find the checkered bananas on the 19 comfortable as well when shooting the 358156 GCs (seated to lower crimp groove) with 13.5 grs. of 2400 in .38 cases. The speed loader cut outs are convenient too. JT

.38 Specials recommendation of the Thompson GC is a good one. The Lyman 358156 is the only bullet I cast for .38s anymore. JT

From the OPs photos, I would also pass. The finish wear on the ejector rod would suggest the gun has been fired (or played with anyway) a lot. Combined with the lack of attention to cleaning, I would also go with the Combat Masterpiece. JT

My .02 is yes, get it. That is a seldom encountered late model Colt (the old Colt as we knew it) in a rare barrel length. I really don't believe you can get hurt on this one. Your money and choice of course. JT
