A friend is looking to sell a Colt 357 mag White Tailer NIB. It came with a scope mounted and a duel lock case. He's looking for $2800 claiming they are very rare. I wasn't looking for one but it did catch my attention. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Massman
If memory serves me I believe there were some issues with the first batch of 686's. If dropped they could fire. Smith recalled them and once checked they put the "M" stamp on the gun as a way of showing the gun had be checked and was cleared as "safe". If you look you often see the "M" is not...
I'm with you Coal Dragger, the Ruger and Browning are nice guns but the S&W 41 is definitely the way to go if finances allow it. Also, I'm surprised it took so long to mention the S&W 41.
I have one I bought in 96 or 97. It went back to Taurus for a barrel problem and since then it has been perfect. A friend wants to but it and I am trying to decide whether to or not to sell it. He made me a generous offer but the damn thing shoots more accurately than my Beretta 92. I'd sell him...
I have 2 S&W 1911s, one of which is a performance center model. I love both and have never had an issue with either. I have friends who own the Ruger but I have yet to shoot one. That being said, a fellow named Mochak, who worked in the S&W performance center, left (or retired) from S&W when he...
Thank you again gentlemen. When I said the "regular" model, I meant the current "Classic" line of 57's vs the 57-5 Mt. Gun reintroduced in 2005. Sorry for my lack of clarity. Does the Mt. Gun carry any extra value since it was considered "limited"?
Gentlemen,
Thank you for your input. I had checked a few sources but wanted "real world" opinions for what this gun would sell for. I can't find any values for the mod. 57 Mt. Gun. 22-rimfire, are you saying the Mt. Gun version of the Mod 57 is valued lower than the regular version of the gun...
A friend's brother has a S&W model 57-5 Mountain gun NIB (never fired) he wants to sell. He is a long gun guy and is thinning his herd of handguns. I asked what he wanted and he told me to make an offer. I have no idea what this model is worth as I can't seem to find much info on it. He claims...
Mizar,
When I hold and slowly release the trigger there is no rubbing. You said when the hammer falls to the 1/2 cocked position it damages the sear. I will once again show my ignorance. When I look at the schematic from Browning, I see #27 = sear lever type II and # 29 = sear spring w/ button...
Gentlemen,
Interesting day at the range. Completely cleaned the gun to be sure nothing was gummed up. Re lubed everything and set out.
Loaded the first clip with 5 rounds. 1st 3 went as should, then a new problem arose. This time when the gun cycled a new round and I pulled the trigger the...
help with Hi-Power
goste,
My problem is slightly different. I rack the slide and pull the trigger and nothing. But when I cock the hammer manually and pull the trigger, I get ignition.
Out of curiosity, were you able to correct the problem and how did you resolve it?
Thanks,
Ed
