Model 14s are six inch barrels. M15s are four inch, most with tapered barrels but as previously posted, some (they're kinda rare) were available with heavy barrels.
The whole thing about needing fifteen shots if you are attacked by a gang is silly. If you shoot the first guy with the revolver, the rest of the gang aren't going to hang around waiting for you to shoot your other five.
No doubt the Model 41 is top notch. Have a couple of old ones.
Also have a 5967 9mm and a 4505. They have never malfunctioned and shoot tight groups. Really great guns.
I have both. Personally, I like the 686 better but I wouldn't try to talk any body out of a GP 100. They are both excellent pieces.
There really isn't much of an advantage to rechambering a .38/.357 into a 9mm unless that is the only ammunition you have, and if that is the case, didn't...
