I have toyed with this idea quite a few times myself, it is very complicated and you must have a higher level of desire and dedication than I do. But if you want to do it, more power to you and good luck, I will buy one!

Well, he didnt mention model number, But i do know it has the carry handle, shorter handguards, the standard buttstock, 16 inch barrel, standard sights, no bayonet lug, but i am pretty sure it has a flash hider. Hope that helps

I have never owned a 40x or even shot one. But i might suggest that you look elsewhere for a 40x, I saw a beatiful one in Cabela's for $2150, i think, Stainless steel and what looked like a mcmillian benchrest stock. Beatiful gun, I would not be ashamed to own it. Of course, i did not ask to...

hmm... should i add my homemade concoction to? If you really want to keep it, i would get a smithy to do it, but, if you have already refininshed 3-4 gunstocks... I would suggest you go for it. But i would not, repeat, would not do this gun as your first project.

Telecaster, I have warne rings on my .308, the permanant kind, I am extremely pleased with them. There is no question in my mind that the scope wont move.
