Hawaii’s strict gun laws working NOT

This has nothing to do with any National Reciprocity (which I object to any Fed involvement in). Drunken military wandering around between midnight and 6 AM isn't the brightest thing anyway.

I’m not sure of what you’re trying to say.
States SHALL NOT INFRINGE on our 2nd Amendment Rights.

I’m usually a big supporter of states rights. But when very liberal states use it to infringe on my right, I’m against it. What gives HI, NY, CA, MA and most importantly to me DC and MD the right to say I can’t carry. In DC and Maryland there is NO way I can legally carry as they won’t issue a permit to someone out of state.

In Va our HORRIBLE AG used the lie that out of state people being able to carry in Va would cause a rash of blood in the streets. Since his ruling which was thrown out, was replaced with an acceptance of ANY STATES permit we’ve had ZERO cases reported of out of state permit holders being arrested for violating the law.

So sorry, I call BS. We need national reciprocity and we needed it a long time ago. I suspect the powers that be, really know that it would actually lower crime and they’re worried that their lies will be exposed just like they were in Va.

No, we don't because somehow, some way, that will allow the Feds into our lives. How do states infringe? Because they have been allowed to for over a century......

If you look at a little history in HI, you might find the answer to why they're so restrictive. Sugar plantation owners had a long history of exploiting foreign workers. When the workers, god forbid, asked for more wages or better working conditions, the owners cracked down with professional strike breakers or militia. Many people were killed in armed skirmishes. Interesting that the plantation owners and business people were originally missionaries.

While there were many Asian workers, when there were labor problems they would also bring in workers from other locals, i.e., Portugal and Puerto Rico, and start afresh.

The plantation and business owners also staged a coup to wrest control from the lawful monarchy, aided by US troops.

They obviously did not want the workers armed, to me this is where restrictive attitudes started in HI. Keep the workers down and vulnerable, with no chance to fight back against the strike breakers or for citizens loyal to the monarchy to stage a counter coup.

Seems like they have perpetuated this mind set. While HI overwhelmingly votes Democrat, it is a very conservative state as far as rights go.

They're in our lives already.

They are going to write more laws. That's a fact.

They've written laws that have benefited many, if not all, here.

We need to stop being self defeating and make them work for us.

Gee Mr. Wizzard. They can't get guns so they get a $3 Walmart knife. If the perps KNOW you are unarmed they will attack. Look at Chicago.

Waikiki is a unique situation within Hawaii. It's a combination of high volume low end and high end tourists, so there's a lot of money walking the streets and in hotels, and there's a lot of younger and poorer tourists who take part in riskier activities. Thieves, drug dealers, street walkers, high end escorts, runaways, human traffickers, and the homeless are drawn to Waikiki like predators to a salmon run. Add in the young local population that seek trouble and thrills and organized crime from around the world, and you have a perfect storm for risk.

Strict gun laws probably contribute towards the victimization of the innocent, but the ecosystem itself will likely continue to exist given the amount of money and people involved. Just stay off the streets between midnight and 6 am. Waikiki is quite delightful during the normal hours, and the criminal element generally knows to stay on their side of the clock to leave alone the civilians.

Heres a current case that we can cite as to why we need national reciprocity and an elimination of the “common sense gun laws” that are being screamed for by the left.

Over 100 arrests In 180 days!
Now I’m not an expert but if there were 1000 arrests, I’m pretty sure there were many more crimes than that.

Here's a complete list of ALL places in the U.S. where strict gun laws have worked:

Kinda sad. In '68 the Constellation stopped for a week on our way to Vietnam. I took leave, put my uniform in a bus station locker and lived on the beach in a bathing suit, t-shirt and flip flops. Never had a problem. I guess the Lord really does look after fools, drunks and sailors.
