Looking for new Range Day Bag

Well guys I made my decision. At first I thought I thought the 5.11 tactical stuff was a fair bit pricey, but then I realized their Presidents Day sale was still active. I ended up getting the large Range Ready Trainer 50L for $115.

While thats still pretty expensive for a range bag, it has everything I want in multiple range bags all in one. With a range bad this size I can easily carry Eye and Hearing Protection, Multiple different sizes of targets, stapler and spare staples, 2-3 handguns along with their spare magazines, a few hundred rounds of each cartridge, and even some cleaning and maintenance equipment.

The only bummer appears to be that I will have to carry my larger targets separately in my other hand if I don't want to fold them or roll them up. Not the biggest issue regardless.

Someone suggested a portfolio bag

Now if you stop buy a competitive girls softball tournament you'll see what seasoned softball moms (or grandpa's) use to haul large loads.
Did the baseball coaching thing for years and years, have all of those bags as well.

What do use to transport all of that. That looks like a small portion of the luggage my wife makes me transport when we take a trip. Like 15 bags and my 2
For years it was a Chevy Blazer, for many more now it's been, and still is, an FJ Cruiser. 237K plus miles.

I have both sizes of the Midway bag. The Compact is adequate for gun, ammo, holster, etc for IDPA or USPSA, or for a couple of guns and my Garmin chronograph. If I want to shoot more than two guns, I use a pistol case for the extras rather than load up the big bag.

I used to have the Dillon range bag which is in-between the two Midways, but it was lost in the Incident.

I am sure that is a fine bag but expensive, I have been using this Midway bag fof over 10 years, I use the smaller bag for my 22 ammo and pistols. I have so much "stuff" it is hard to carry but has a shoulder strap.:)You could buy two of these for the price of the 5.11

heavy duty tool bag/heavy duty plastic tool box. Discreet and they hold weight. My range tool box protects even if it gets rained on. Have a smaller S&W range bag that got in a promotion, but only use it going to indoor range. It is not nearly as heavy duty as the tool bag.

have to get our bags from the parking lot to the range
Might look at one of these:

Or:

Which is more of a dolly.
Harbor Fright has a similar item to this:
iu

Amd all of those will fold up to stash in your vehicle on the last trip to and fro

I use two of the Walmart bags.
Ones for guns, loaded magazines and cleaning stuff. The other for extra ammo, hearing protection and anything else

That 5.11 is a nice bag. Black or tan?

I think age might have something to do with the size of the range bag one can carry.
And how lopsided you look walking to the line.

These carts were the range at Camp Perry for a while.
Mine is doing yard chores these days and its great.

I have some wheels like that, came off of a child's wheelchair. Yep, I'm a life long scrounger/good at repurposing materials.

I like tool bags these days, especially for heavy stuff:

It looks like I'm late to the party and you have already found what you needed. I was going to suggest looking at Home Depot, Lowes, ect for tool bags.

I am old enough to not to want to carry a lot of weight, I am also fortunate enough to live close to the county seat. I noticed that the county sells surplus items they no longer need and I bought a rolling briefcase with an extended telescoping handle and modified it for a range bag. All I have to do is load it up, put it in the back of the truck, get to the range and roll it to a shooting station. The only time I have to lift it is putting it into the truck and taking it out. It carries everything I need at the range. Every county has a surplus sales store where you bid on an item and highest bidder gets the item. I have bought filing cabinets (less than $30 bucks), Eight legged wood teachers desk, bought a lot of stuff they sell. Try to check them out or bid on used rolling briefcases on ebay or amazon. They work great for range bags.

I gave up on bags a long time ago. I've since gone to the wheeled click together tool boxes found anywhere tools are sold. In the lowest box I keep a front rest, assorted bags and chronograph. Middle box holds spotting scope and tripod. Top box has ear and eye protection, chamber flags, ammo, plus all the incidentals. Smaller targets fit in any of the boxes. If I'm not shooting rifle that trip, I just grab the top box and go.
