I want to hike .25 miles from an auto out to our shoot spot. I'd like to fit range bag shooting supplies, maybe 2-6 steel targets, some miscelaneous target stuff, paper, maybe a few of those .22 self healing balls. A rifle in a soft case over my shoulder, and probably 2 pistols in the backpack, and ammo. And Lunch. Water, drinks. It is not far, maybe I should also add a small hand sized cooler for food and drinks, I would have two free hands if I'm not pushing a game cart.
I'm 6"6" and the day pack size bag I got is way to small. It is fine, I can jam basically a range bag of supplies in it, but - it could easily be much bigger and no burden to carry .25 miles. I also think the zippers kind of stink, and I don't really like it very much, but - it worked for a season.
Suggest me a modest priced backpack, that will work for this, and maybe last 2 or 3 years or more.
