It was a fun time, she had fun, and wants to go during this week sometime. :D :D :D :D

Thats me with my SAR-1, kvar od nato stock set, red star trigger, blastin away.

What's all that white stuff? I'm from northern California, and I can't even get my friends to the range when it's just raining.

aaarrrgghhhh!!!

You just reminded me. Last Friday my wife asked me when was I going to take her to the range again?

I, of course, said "Well how about this weekend, honey?". She said "Well ok there my stud muffin". (ok, she didn't put it exactly like that....)

And then what happened? Oh, life happened... Started cleaning the garage and started building a work bench (she is taking a furniture building class) and it snowed so I had to go skiing and then I had to run some errands for my mom and before I knew it the weekend was over.

I'm a lucky guy and, obviously, so is ruger270man. Lately I think my wife has suggested we go to the range more often than me!

It looks like a lot of fun!(except for the snow!) It is ood that the distaff side keeps up with firearms use! :)

When I was stationed in Korea I used to practice with my Savage 24 .22LR/.410 gauge and my .22 Ruger Standard I was the only one with a personal firearm and I would shoot in Summer or Winter. I figured if the NK's decided to come across the border they probably would not pick a balmy Summer day, but in the dead of Winter. Everybody thought I was nuts. Shooting in a snowstorm was not exactly fun but I learned some things from my practice anyway.

I've gone to the range in the snow and in 10 degree weather. The Range Officer, seeing I was the only person enjoying all 50 lanes, said "I'll be huddled in the RO shack; as long as you're the only person here, you can call the range hot and cold yourself."

He musta been scared of me, as 5 layers of snivel gear makes me look HUGE

not to be a ninny but i gotta 2nd what sw said about eye protection.the good lord only issues one set i cant count the times glasses let me keep mine.
it looks like youall had alot of fun despite the that nasty white stuff.the last time my bunch got together for a loudtoy party was 1/1/05. it was 65deg and sunny we made the most of it.

oh yeah the young lady badly needs a ruger 10/22 bull barrel target rifle with a good scope(leopold vx3 4.5x14x).that and you need to check her out on a handgun or 2. post pics keep us informed. ;)

Amazing what you get used to. We were supposed to start our winter pin shoot (.22) last weekend but the snow/sleet/freezing rain canceled it. That was due to the safety issues, not the precipitation. This weekend has snow predicted with a high in the 20's and we will be out there.

Get a fire going in the barrel and keep the firearms dry...not too much oil so that the actions don't freeze, though when it gets sub zero that doesn't seem to help :banghead:

The pins are steel and can be reset by pulling a rope. The only downside is carrying the set-up out to the table. With .22's there is no brass to collect either.

I still say ice belongs in drinks, though  Walking on it is a bummer.

I went shooting in western NY Sunday and it was snowy and cold. My friend and I didn't care, I had just loaded some ammo and he just got a new gun (Mossberg 640KC Chuckster in .22WMR) so unless we couldn't see the target we were going out.

The rest should be supporting the forestock. Even with a 22 accuracy will suffer if the barrel is touching anything.
