I never thought in my life I would ever ever buy a chinese made firearm but I found a super clean Norinco SKS in a pawnshop today. I need to stop visiting pawnshops and the gunshows, too much temptation LOL anyhow this is what came home with me
What I found was a very well kept firearm. I took a look down the bore and it is immaculate. The bluing is like 98 percent, just a few scratches here and there, nothing major, the wood is in tip top shape, again just a few scratches, Im wondering if this is one of those unissued or made for the American market ones maybe, I did not buy this as collectible though, I bought it for a shooter. I just had a good feeling on this one. Compared to most Pawnshop SKS's I see all the time, this one made them all look pathetic.
Heres the results
All shots in these pics were at 50 yards, had a flyer or 2 but this was me getting used to the sights and how it shoots, i need a sks sight adjustment tool for the front sight, its high as I finally got a good feel for it and put a few where I wanted em LOL I was quite pleased. I didn't have time to wait for a cease fire and to get the 100 yard target, alot of folks showed up after I moved over to the 100 yard tables, the shots were close enough, no bulls but a bunch in the outer orange or just outside of it
For me Im very impressed, with open sights and the cheapo 3 bucks a box Academy ammo, Im quite happy with my 2 bills and some change spent on this
Yea I might have been able to find a beater for much less, but this one looks pretty nice and is a shooter. If I was a better shot it would even do better probably. At least there was no Cosmoline to have to contend with on this one worth the price of admission to not have to clean that up
Im trying to forget the beautiful Underwood 42 M1 Carbine he also had up there, that was very tempting too but a few bills more of course
Cheers everyone.
