Do you believe in ghosts?

Nope, I don't believe in ghosts.

Now werewolves and vampires are a totally different matter. Solid silver bullets in Colt .45s will do the trick on those babies, so Bram Stoker says.

Nope, been in too many uneventful "haunted" houses and tried to call out too many unresponsive ghosts

on a serious note i do believe in ghosts.. i have 2 people i know, that i trust very much, that have sworn that they saw one, and i dout that guns would do anything but make them mad

What a silly if appropriate topic considering the holiday

Do you believe in ghosts or spirits?

Could there be beings who have adapted to exist among us on the very edge of our senses, but who are never quite seen? Could there be some other universe which is, to coin a Star Trek term, slightly out of phase with our own and we just happen to interact with it every once in a while?

Could there be things we just don't understand yet?

Possible. But do I believe in ghosts as the restless spirits of the dead? Not hardly.

Would a gun do any good?

Of course. After you shot the "ghost" you could peel off his rubber mask and reveal it was the groundskeeper Mr. Green the whole time, and he'd have gotten away with it too if not for you meddling kids and your damned guns!

I've seen "something" - whether I can say it was a "ghost" I don't know.

It was just some old dude standing in the same room as me (in my house) in a long coat with a hat... looked like he was from the 50's or something fashion-wise.

Next second I do a double-take - he was gone.

It very well may have been my mind playing tricks on me as it was really late at night and I hadn't slept.

In spite of the fact that I personally had an experience with an "enity" who called herself "Elizabeth," and the fact that my wife says she saw my ex Father-in-law (and described him to a "T") a man she had never met or even seen a picture of, in his old house...

No. I don't believe in ghosts. And if there were such things, a gun wouldn't do any good..

This post is off-topic I think, but Ghost related weapons weapons aren't :D

And no, not exactly. I would tend to argue that what we call ghosts are largely either angels or demons (would lean toward the demonic myself).

Logically, No I don't believe in ghosts; when we're dead, we're dead.

But, I have seen things that I can't explain. Many years ago on a church retreat, at night the lights started flashing, yeah we're were out by a lake in the boondocks of Oklahoma, I can understand flaky power, but what I can't logically explain is the small boy standing by the staircase, in which I could see through him, everybody sleeping in the room woke up about the same time and started pointing him out and reporting seeing the same thing.

If you're willing to sell me land or goods for a discount because they are haunted or posessed, then I absolutely do but you might be able to twist my arm and make me suck up my fears and buy anyway if you give me a deal.

Outside of that, no. I don't believe in ghosts, goblins, witches, leprechauns, unicorns, gods, demons, spirits, invisible pink elephants, werewolves, vampires, honest politicians, winged monkeys, psychics, telekenesis, kittens, or zombies.

Since we're on the topic though, does anyone else find it odd that when people see ghosts they're always relatively recent ghosts? Despite the huge span of time humans have roamed the earth and how many of them have died all over the planet, people always see ghosts from the last couple hundred years at most, usually less than that even.

Agreed.

I'd personally like to see the ghost of someone like Edgar Allen Poe or a knight.

Cavemen! People never see someone grilling some wooly mammoth over a fire in a loin cloth in their living room ;)

Ghosts, nope. Can't say that I do. My aunt, however, remains convinced our house is haunted, as well as the neighbor's :scrutiny:.

+1 CajunBass.

Weird things do happen - visions of the future, "ghost images" of people, synchronicity, etc.

I could go on for half a page about my theories on these things, quantum mechanical stuff. But I won't.

Are these sightings, etc. spirits of the dead? I don't think so. The dead certainly don't explain synchronicity or the visions of the future my best female friend has. Or witchy stuff, either.

What I'd like to know is if CajunBass' ex-father in law ever had a vision of CB's wife!

Ghosts, no....... bored or malicious fallen angels yes.

No..... a gun would not do any good regardless of what Sam and Dean say.

I used to be in the "undecided" category on this. Then I met my wife, who was working at a local barn that was converted to a restaurant. Ghosts there, and I don't just mean once in a while.

Mail and letters would lift up and fly across the room. Doors slam shut for no reason. Crowds of people would see someone walk into a room. You'd go there and it was empty, with only the one way in and out. We'd sit in the lower level after closing, and you'd hear furniture moving upstairs.

Best was one night when the dining room was full. A potted plant flew across the room over everyone's head and smashed against the wall. Everyone, and I mean everyone that worked there or spent any time there had experiences.

I asked my minister about this. Bible has references to demons and spirits. Don't know how it fits into the scheme of things, but they do exist. She thought it was a bunch of talk before working there. Now she's 100% convinced.

I've seen a few things that sent chills up my spine back when I was dating a girl that lost her mom a couple years before we dated. My wife (friends before then) did see some spooky stuff in that girls same house.

My sister seen a spirit of a colonial dressed woman and man in my grandmothers old house.

I'm on the fence on this one.

And finally, I don't think guns would help.
