How I know I'm a gunny

That tachymeter gages speed in Mph over a measured mile. Notice at the 12:00 position it says 60, if it takes exactly 60 seconds to go one mile then you are going 60 Mph, if it takes 10 seconds then you're screaming along at about 350 Mph or so.

I've owned analog chronographs for many years, but nothing that costs even close to that one. I'm currently sporting a Citizen Echodrive (solar powered) that I paid about $450 for.

EDIT: now that I think about it, the tachymeter would work to gage any measured distance relative to an hour. The same scale would be used to measure Kph.

Ebel 1911 that I'm probably going to buy.

Now I'm going to HAVE to get a 1911 pistol to carry with it.

Bought it today from a place in Beverly Hills that somehow had the best price ($3,000 including shipping and shipping insurance - no tax since I'm not a resident in CA, they don't have a location in Florida, and I bought over the phone).

So, on to the .40 S&W 1911 to match. :)

Should be a black, white, and polished steel theme. I'm thinking a frame with a combination of polished and brushed stainless steel parts - and then some kind of grip that would incorporate the other colors (black, white, and maybe some red). I'm thinking STI for the pistol, and then finding aftermarket custom grips.

I've been meaning to get a 1911 for some time. Now, I just have a good excuse.

Last time I looked an Omega Seamaster Automatic Gold circa 1948 only costs $1500
reconditioned. The Ebla's nice but, looks to have too many dials for me.

SS

I am a stickler for metal bands instead of leather. Leather looks nicer, but this will be my new EDC watch since my last EDC watch (Omega Seamaster "non" America's Cup) got stolen by the maid (has been fired finally for additional thefts).

looks to have too many dials for me.

standard chronograph.

Tachymeter: "It allows you to measure speed based on speed = distance-traveled x time"

And it measures distance if you know the speed, too.:neener:

(That's distance over time, by the way. )
