I'm sold on putting a millet red dot on my Super Redhawk for this deer season. It seems like the best for the buck in my price range. Anyway, I don't have any places locally that carry these, so I'm on the fence about which size to get. the 1" or the 30mm. The 30mm will give a larger field of view I'm assuming, but also add some additional clunkiness to the already large revolver. Anybody have any pics of either of these scopes on a similar revolver? Or anybody have any general advice on picking between the two? I'm leaning slightly toward the 1" simply for the lower profile. Because this is for deer hunting, I'm thinking the 1" tube will be big enough, whereas if I were going to use it for quick acquisition shooting the bigger objective might be nice.

I have two SRH revo's - one is .44 mag and other for .454 Casull. They both sport that 1" Millet and I have found that ideal - very compact and for me anyways, easy to use. I doubt a 30mm would be much advantage.

Only problem I have on the .44 is that the front glass on the sight is slightly crazed ... must be due to the ring mount pressure on the tube over time It's beyond warranty so I put up with it but I did have one replaced real early on for same reason. That could be the only downside.

Even on the brutal .454 the sight setting seems to hold fine so overall - for me an ideal sight for the gun.

Here are two pics .

Nice setup, it looks great. I think I'm going to buy the 25 mm for now. If I don't like it, I can always put it on a different gun and buy the 30mm for my SRH :-D It'll work out in the end.
