Question about a shooting picture

She's using a common holding technique for COMPETITION shooting, and she looks very competent and comfortable with it.

I'm a lefty and I don't shoot nearly that goofy.

Competition holds can look strange.

To the OP...front sight adjustment is well, at the front sight itself.

i'm left-handed and shoot high power. i hold the rifle almost exactly like she does.

except:
my gloved hand is not closed. i put my fingers through the carry handle instead of balling them up. index finger goes over the handguard, the other 3 fingers go through the carry handle.

also, i keep my elbows closer to my body, my nose to CH and the toe of the stock higher on my shoulder

at the risk of drawing the wrath of internet denizens... i also occasionally shoot HP sans eye-pro. early morning, fog, haze, i just can't see as well through my shooting glasses, but most of the time i do. if that picture was staged, she'd probably be wearing glasses

That would be Amanda Elsenboss.................you really wouldn't want to bet against her.

Now she may not be quite as good as Taliv, but I'm thinking she is sure easier on the eyes.

HA, you're wrong on both counts! she's a better shooter and i'm much better looking!

She's also looped up in her shooting sling, so what may look odd to some of us is actually pretty stable and tight, as her scores can attest to.

The sling around the elbow, thumb under receiver, & left handed have already been mentioned. So I will just agree with them.

Yeah... Seen a zipper and leather, didn't know what it was...or any means to hold a scope up.

She is not using the sling in any way for support as per CMP rule 6.8.7 (1). She has been competing as a junior until this year. She is now in the USAMU on the highpower rifle team.

Here is another phenomenal female shooter on the Army team:
