I fell into a LNIB 6" Diamondback yesterday, chambered in .22LR.

I tend to prefer semi-autos for .22LR shooting so I'm considering looking for a trade, the same gun chambered in .38 special, my most shot caliber by a long stretch.

I really don't know very much at all about the Diamondbacks other than they are drop dead gorgeous. Would a straight across trade for one in .38 spc be fair value or are the .22LR guns worth more, or less?

Thanks.

I can tell you for a fact that the 6" 38spl DB is more rare than the 6" 22LR DB even though the 22 almost always sells for more.

If that is a nickel gun, I might be interested in discussing an arrangement.

It is a blued gun. I just picked it up from the dealer this afternoon, I can't find any cosmetic flaws and have no reason to believe it will function other than perfectly.

Old Fuff. You were trying to make it a Fitz Special?

Bike mutt. Your 6" 22 LR Diamondback is a pretty scarce bird. You can learn to shoot double action revolver with it

he would make anything from a Diamondback to a Howitzer into a Fitz Special.

But worry not...I would not trust an H&R .22 with him unless I cut the cord on his bench grinder. Let alone one of my old Colts

:neener:

Too bad it's not possible to do a FTF swap, I'd probably trade a nickel .38 for a blue .22.

I've explained to Guillermo that it would be absolutely unique because I don't think anyone else has ever done it... :uhoh:

But he keeps playing hard to get, and I understand he's just bought a new safe. :neener: :D

I have a blued, 4 inch .38 Spl. I've always wanted a .22 but prefer a 4 inch in that as well. The .22's do seem to command a premium.

doc2rn,

Too bad you're so far away, I'd take that revolver off your hands with a FTF deal. I had a chance to buy one from a fellow worker, wouldn't wait til payday, would love to have yours! :banghead:
