First, I disagree with one thing. It will never again be normal, or at least there will be a new normal. But the prices of last year are just that, a thing of the past.
That being said, ammo, ammo, ammo, ammo, ammo, and more ammo.
A second M-1 from the CMP is all.
My overall ammo planning began in early '08, though an extra two bricks of .22 would work.
Ordering 1,000 rds. of M2 Ball from the CMP tomorrow.
Some of this is in case my son gets bitten by the gun bug one day, or have some for retirement, as this ammo (at .50/rd.) will only go up in price.
I will keep buying ammunition, semi-bulk, but slow and steady.
Next purchase will be a browning buck mark stainless bull barrel with LED front post. Not too expensive. I have have over 6k 22LR so I can shoot it with a little impugnity.
After that, a really small 9mm or 380 for summer carry.
ammo and lots of it! Also I want to get into reloading.
I've never been one to stockpile ammo but I need to start so that when (not if) the next ammo shortage happens I'll be more than prepared to get through it.
22LR ammo, along with other calibers. I guess ammo goes without saying.
I'm kind-of in the market for a semi-auto 12GA. Walmart keeps getting Mossbergs in and then selling them out again. I think about it, but I'm not sure at $599.
Things will never be the same. I have everything I need, until I die. My wife, however, needs a revolver that is nonexistent, and will be for some time to come.
I need more reloading components like Powder and Projectiles.
Ammo wise I will buy a bunch of .22lr and 12 gauge once things get back to normal.
Gun wise I am planning to add a Ruger Alaskan, a good 12 gauge o/u shotgun, and I plan to be in the mix for an IHC M1 Garand when the CMP releases some for sale.
I think I'll get one of those evil "assault rifles" that the market got flooded with.
There's bound to be some popping up for sale soon.
That and I plan to get better stocked up on reloading supplies as well.
