After 27 months on a waiting list should I buy a Kel-Tec RFB 7.62?

What have we learned about the gun since I ordered it > 2 years ago? I have another 4 days to respond . . .

Any long-term reliability reviews? Any good accuracy tests?

Also what is a fair price?

Get it! I just bought one for 1800 two weeks ago, and I'm in love! I got really lucky-just managed to find one at a small gun store in the next basin over. From what I've been reading from owners, the reliability is pretty good. The gas systems a little annoying to figure out at first, mostly because of how much adjustment there is, but the benefit of that is that there's definitely a setting it'll run perfectly on. I took it to the range, sighted it in, and was getting 1.5" groups with Federal Gold Medal Match ammo, about 2.5" with PMC M80 spec ammo.

I have an RFB which I bought used. Initially it ran good, then started having feeding and ejection issues. I called Kel-Tec and ended up sending it to them for service. They covered the repairs and return shipping. The rifle now runs great.

I wouldn't say it's a bench rest accuracy champ but it's decent.

I gave up trying to shoot it suppressed. Even with a K-T supplied piston I found the fumes caused by the added back pressure to be too much for me. Not to mention having to mess with piston and gas block settings. I found the PWS FSC30 brake works the best for me with the RFB.

It's the strangest rifle I own in one respect; would I sell it? No. Would buy it again? No.

Some of that dichotomy rests with the fact that it isn't cheap to run a lot of 7.62 NATO these days so I have to temper my use of the rifle to fit my budget.

I was at a gun shoot recently and one of the guys had a Kel Tec bull pup that looked like the one Cal- Gun fan illustrated and it had serious feeding problems.I don't recall whether it was a 5.56 or 7.62 caliber.

The price is $1460, btw.

For 1460, buy it. Is it from Impact?

At that price, it's a no brainer. You could sell it for more than you paid if you don't like it. But I bet you will. It's definitely my favorite rifle, after only having it two weeks and shooting it three times. I plan on using it for hunting boar and deer.

I would have had mine yesterday but the dealer was not there to sign for FedEx :(

Hopefully today.
