That's the thing. The chances of needing a handgun at all are also small, and we all hope it works out to never, yet we still carry. The consequences of being wrong are too great when compared to the small inconveniences involved. We all have made similar calculations whether we say so or...
Is it new in box with -3 magazines? Those mags should be very reliable. Mine likes speer gold dots. One other thing to mention - (no experience with the Sig ammo line) the 42 has a very strong RSA. It will generally want full power ammo.
Private sales of firearms - meaning person to person by two persons residing in the same state fall under state law (setting aside federal disqualifications). Federal gov't (ATF, etc) would not have authority to regulate intrastate firearms sales that is otherwise lawful. Just my non-lawyer...
Both, actually. The grip swells and has more of a beavertail. It makes the grip feel a bit larger in the hand which for me is good. The front and back straps are very aggressive (like sandpaper). The sides are grippy but not sharp which I am glad for against skin.
That said the stock XL...
On a similar quest I bought a P365XL 3 years ago almost to the day. It was a pretty new offering (2019) and addressed the vague issues I had with the base P365 model when it came out (grip so tiny, unproven, etc). I'm still carrying it today, and have expanded my P365 lineup to include a...
I have a "public defender poly" which has the shortest barrel in the lineup, I think. Been using Winchester high brass Super-X 2 1/2 1/2 ounce 7 1/2 shot "upland and small game" for the occasional copperhead that gets into the outside living areas where people and dogs go. Works good. I have...
Your use of these for carry is quite an endorsement. I look forward to testing of mine (4) when I have time.
Current EDC P365XL with WC grip module, sometimes a 442 in pocket. If I am going lazy LCP MAX for thin and light.
In my most recent purchase I seem to have skipped right over gen 2 from gen1 to gen 3. Hard to believe my original gen 1 is 15 years old.
@halfmoonclip I am going to say lightweight (the "L" in LCP) and small size are what makes the LCP the LCP. It's an inexpensive, reliable little pocket 380...
When I lived in NJ where purchase permits are issued for every handgun via an application, people would list the number of permits they wanted and would receive them after the equivalent of a full criminal background check done by the state (similar to carry license in other states). Not only...
First time I flew out of Newark (EWR) the ticket counter lady had me open my locked pistol case with four pistols inside - at the ticket counter in Newark, NJ. I mean there were tons of people on line behind, and in the lines beside. I said, now, here? She affirmed and so I turned the case to...
Hard question which of course only you can answer. But my opinion is get some top tier manufactured ammo - not a boutique or small outfit, and test it using that. Something in the defensive/LE lines from Speer, Winchester, Federal, Hornady. Ammo that law enforcement uses.
And don't forget...
I have this dumb test I use. Unloaded, cylinder out of battery, hold the the cylinder release back to defeat the interlock while placing a finger over the firing pin hole. Pull trigger. If it stings, its good :)
It is a tragedy brought about by lack of the most basic safety awareness. Now the family is destroyed, and while the article says no charges have been filed, you can bet the state has criminal negligence or similar on the books. This sad mother will be crying in prison as she contemplates her...
That is hardly a step in the direction the OP asked about, given he starts with J-frame and is looking at LCP II class. I'd go back to another LCP, pick the type you want.
