Yikes! I find scads of them out in the woods. I just pop the primer out and get clean brass scrap price for them.

My solution for 5.7x28 brass is to toss them right into the scrap bucket, just like I do with rimfire shells. Saves the headache.

I also use the RCBS collet bullet puller. Very happy with it. I was going to buy the Hornady puller until I saw a bunch of complaints about the collets not holding up with use. That was good enough for me to go with the RCBS and I have never looked back.

I have a friend who owns an older Remington tube fed bolt action. It feeds shorts, longs, and long rifles. The barrel is around 22” long. When you shoot shorts you barely hear the shot. Its almost comical. That would be great for near the house. Just a thought.

Have you looked at what the lead hardness is after powder coat? The bake can lower the hardness of lead. Have you considered a different type of coating? Hy-tek super coat comes to mind. Bit of a different process but it ends up applying less thick on the bullet. There was a guy on youtube...

What a great find. I used to own the 617 model with a ten shot cylinder. I got tired of cleaning all those holes. I have developed an affinity for revolvers with 6 holes instead. The model 17 fits the bill perfectly. Take her to the range and give her some love!
