The extra cost and hassle of a sub 18" barrel probably isn't going to be worth it to me.. And now that I think about it; having a longer barrel is not too bad as I'll probably get it turned so I can put on a can and/or a flash suppressor..
If I were to get a 6.5; it'd be a 6.5 Creedmoor; Since a Ruger Precision in 6.5Creedmoor is on my short list for next year's birthday.
As far as blast.. I think the most blast I've ever seen in my life was actually a dude in the next booth at the range shooting a .44Mag out of a 2.25" snubby...
My NM-M1A is like lugging a brick.. from the bench it's great! On a hunt; probably not the ideal tool..
My 357Mag pump probably is enough; but it's my birthday and I am going to get a gun... because I'm an American and I can!!!
So now I'm thinking about it a bit more; it would seem perhaps a 7600 in 308 and getting it cut, crowned as well as threaded for a muzzle break would see ideal..
I am quite familiar with the Savage Hog hunter. I'm left handed; and so most bolt guns I can shoot well from the bench; but not from run and gun; I've given myself bloody lips before. I also have tried and failed to work lever actions well; just not smooth with them; much prefer a pump action...
As is Tradition.. My birthday is coming up so that means time to buy myself a gun!
I would like to buy a gun this year for the purpose of hog hunting (I think).
I do own a Timberwolf .357Mag Pump Rifle already; but wondering if that's "enough gun" for a Hog. Advantages of course is that I...
Hi, I bought an old used holster I like, only thing is the snap on it is slightly too long, so I'm wonding if someone can tell me how much "work" / "equipment" it would take for me to move the snap down one.. ? I have no clue.. Thanks!
This happened to me on Thursday...
"Hi my name is *** let me know if there's anything I can help you with."
"Yes, I'm looking for either full wadcutters or at the very least semi wadcutters in 38 Special, I didn't see any on the shelf, so wondering if you guys are out or there might be some in...
I can ask them; but I was hoping someone had one and can just take a pic for me. Because if they said "yes" so what? Doesn't give me 100% confidence. A pic of the bottom on the other hand..
I have a glock 35 that I also bought a conversion barrel for; I'm left handed and so basically the redheaded stepchild of the gun world. My conversion barrel is also threaded; and so sticks out a bit. I cannot find a single picture online of this holster to see if the bottom is "closed" or if...
Target shooting to about 200 yards, so what like a 3-7x scope? 300AAC with a lit reticle for hunting I'm thinking. I'm a trigger snob, so I'd spend more on trigger because I know it greatly effects accuracy.
My friend's wife approached me yesterday with building him a b-day AR15. Budget is $2000. (Nice wife!!)
We will probably go hog hunting later on; so I want to allocate $$$ for a 300 Blackout barrel. That $2K will need to include glass.
I am not a fan of AR's so I'm going to have to...
Passed my LTC! Have decided when I'm not open carrying, I'll be staying an LCP. Fairly small fame so it was the only one I thought comfortable.
Debating between a cerakoted LCP vs LCP custom:
Shimmering gold cerakote lcp:

Not worried about the rusting, I have...
My friend Randolph (Good rest his soul) use to bring 38Spl pussycat wadcutters he hand loaded. Loved them. The bullets looked almost a as if it's flush with the casing.
I know little about hand loading.
Question: if all I wanted to do was to load sound like he did, what's the minimal...
