okay, here are the 2 loads
from hornady:
124grain fmj-rn
c.o.l.=1.150"...i am using 1.153"
AA No. 7 - 6.2grains is the starting 7.9grains is the max, i am using 6.3grains
from lasercast
124 grain lrn, except i am using 125 grain lrn
C.O.L = 1.130...i am using 1.133"
AA No. 7 -...
i dont have my load data with me at the moment, but my loads are starting loads from the hornady load data and from laser cast. I will probably try to up each a grain or 2 and see what happens. I just did not understand why the slide lock would work if i put 5 or more rounds into the gun of...
Hello,
I have a problem with my glock 19 (9mm luger). The only modification i have made to it, is a lonewolf replacement barrel for shooting lead reloads. When i put one handloaded round into the gun, the slide fails to lock back after firing. If i use a factory round, the slide locks back...
my wife was the same way before we got married. Make sure you hash everything out before you get married. I just kept pushing the issue and she caved eventually. I'd say push it and she will either cave or leave. Do you really want a wife who wont let you have guns?
i will also be ordering some, my local shop Graf's Reloading in St. Charles, MO, doesnt carry lead 115 grain in any style. It sure would be nice to see missouri bullet in there. ;)
so then you are setting the LTC or LCN to the same OAL's as LRN?...i guess if the answer is yes, then all i need to do is use the Hodgdons 125gr LCN data for my LRN
what does LTC stand for...did you mean LCN - lead conical nose? also, what I am worried about with using the LCN, an LRN is that i am not sure if the bullets are the same lengths and have read in the speer manual that varying oals on a small case like the 9mm can greatly increase pressure. How...
Is 9mm 124gr and 125gr Lead Round Nose Data interchangeable? Also, is 125gr LRN and 125gr lead conical nose interchangeable? Do i need to adjust lengths or anything? Are the lengths of the bullets the same? I am having a hardtime finding good data for 125gr lrn.
Feel free to suggest...
Thanks android, so what I am thinking is that the "do not reload brass fired in ANY glock" does not make sense. I understand the concern for not firing .40 s&w, due to the buldge, but the 9mm appears to not expand the brass any more than other 9mm handguns. Looking at the expansion of the...
helg,
I went back and measured point p1 exactly with the sharp parts of the calipers and i get .385 for both the fired and non-fired brass of the same brand (winchester). when i use the flat wider part of the calipers to measure the p1 area I get .388 on the fired brass and .385 on the...
helg, are you saying that your brass does not expand at the base? I went back and measured a remington umc round and a winchester white box unfired round at p1 and they both measure .385 as opposed to the .388 fired cases. Also, I went and measured my .45acp fired brass, which measures .473 at...
Hello,
For those of you who have 9mm in other guns other than glocks, what does the base on your fired brass measure. Cases fired in my Glock 19 all measure .388. I have measured 4 rounds that I picked up at the range, which do not have the glock imprint on the primer and they also measure...
Thanks Vacek,
That was some very useful information. Now i just need to convince my wife i need a new barrel. I will post later on down the road with which one i buy, and how it worked for me.
Vacek,
good to know, i have a few questions for you.
1. were you able to use brass previously fired out of a 9mm glock barrel?
2. if so, what type of dies did you use?
3. did you have to have anything done to the barrel for lead reloads to chamber properly?
4. what OAL do you load...
also, something else, which i have heard but not sure about, is it true that glock 9mm barrels do not expand the brass as much as the .40 s&w, so this might be a non-issue. I have looked at my 9mm cases and have never noticed the glock buldge in any.
Hello,
I am thinking about buying a replacement barrel for my glock 19 9mm, with the sole purpose of shooting lead. I have been looking at Lone Wolf and KKM. Lone Wolf looks to be around 100 bucks and KKM around 165. 65 bucks really does not bother me much either way. What I am wanting is...
okay, i guess i will go with the xd .40, since I already have a glock 19 and planned to swap out the barrel eventually with a lone wolf, but I'm still a little intimidated with doing that. I'm kind of to the point now where i refuse to shoot a gun unless i can reload for it. I havent shot my...
thanks freakshow, but what I am looking for is more along the lines if say my crimp is not as good as it should be, or a I crimp to much, or I seat the bullet slightly off, which caliber would be less likely to show drastic changes (or which is so to say safer). Also, does one round use thicker...
