I am building myself a custom 358 Winchester bolt gun, my first build of this complexity as I've done ARs and savage barrel swaps in the past. I have the barrel chucked up and indicated through the headstock of my lathe and I questioning myself about the 5/8-24 muzzle threads I had planned. No...
FROGO207 just an FYI but Starline has 300BLK brass in stock on their website. I've done the whole convert from 223/556 thing in the past and would not bother at this point with quality brass being so available.
Are you measuring your headspace on these fired pieces of brass with the spent primers still installed? I have found I get much more consistent measurements if I knock the spent primers out with a universal de-capping die.

I also have an older Bushmaster with a non F marked front sight. I have run the magpul rear sight with a long front pin. The pin will extend above the protective ears when zeroed.
Currently I am running the factory carry handle, it is shorter than the standard carry handles meant for F marked...
I do several things that I believe help to prevent over or under charged cases. I load single stage, my prepped and primed cases are kept in a small tupperware container. Once my powder measure is set correctly I remove a single case from the tupperware and charge it then place into a loading...
