I am building myself a custom 358 Winchester bolt gun, my first build of this complexity as I've done ARs and savage barrel swaps in the past. I have the barrel chucked up and indicated through the headstock of my lathe and I questioning myself about the 5/8-24 muzzle threads I had planned. No immediate plans for a muzzle device as I am not a fan of brakes and do not at this time own a big bore rifle suppressor. Doing some research I see its common for 9mm carbines and 350 legend to come with 1/2-28, I have not seen much mention of 5/8-24 and some mention of 11/16-24. I have enough diameter to do any of these as I measure at .810"
Please educate me if there is a set standard for this bore diameter, I'm also interested in your collective thoughts on what you would choose.
