YES! your early TT P229 most definitely qualifies for membership! Very nice :)
I just found a set of Sig logo'd Crimson Trace laser grips for my P239 SAS. IMHO, this is the ultimate CCW set up for the warmer summer months.

The date code for your W.German P226 will look like this -
Your P6 will have the month and year stamped on the right side of the slide.
I just added this P220 9mm to the "family". It was made in 1983 and has the European style magazine release.
Haven't been around for a while.
Here are the newest Sig family shots plus two new (to me) additions.
P220's and P226's
P225's, P228's, and P229s
P230 SL, P239's, and Trailside
BDA / Sig .45acp
P228 Two Tone (1991)
Do yourself a favor and get the Sig Armorers DVD.
It covers in detail how to strip your Sig all the way down. You can get it from Top Gun Supply. I'd also recommend buying a "parts kit" from him at the same time (shipping is the same), especially if you bought your Sig used. Many of the...
I need some advice as to how to cover my butt for making a trade of a handgun. I'm in Pa and the person I'm trading with is in Tennessee.
I trust the person to ship his gun and hold up his end of the deal.
My concern is what proof do I have that I sold the gun in case it ends up in the...
I'm not half to photographer as some here, but here's a shot of my S&W snubbies.
top row - M66-2, M640, M64-2
middle - M38 Body Guard, M317, M60
bottom - M642 with CTs, M37
As 9mmepiphany said, It is VERY important to keep your rails greased - especially on the ST models. Change your springs every 5K rounds and your Sig should last you a long time.
Do you have any pictures of those that you could post as a reference?
Sig still makes the P232 which basically a...

Your P229 is sweet! I saw them advertised when they came out and was very tempted to get one.
Personally, I like it just the way it is, but its yours so make it they you want it. I love the reverse TT look.
If the frame is steel, its just like my P229ST...
New (to me) P230SL
I got this P230SL from a friend that I've worked with and known for over 20 years. He bought it new in 1993. He shot less than 100 rounds through it. The gun, the box, and all of the papers are in mint condition.
Here are some pictures that might help with the size difference between a P239 and a P225 (same size as a P6).
The P239 has the finger grove grips.
I don't have any size comparison pictures between a P239 and a P229 (I'll have to take some). The actual size of a P229 is very...
I picked up two .40S&W cases that looked exactly like that at my range a couple of months ago.
I kept them just as a reminder to pay attention to which ammo goes into which magazine when I'm shooting different calibers.
Hopefully your gun is OK.
What 9mm said.
It does not sound like an extractor problem.
Usually the slide not locking back is caused by the shooter riding the slide release with their thumb.
Your P226 has a fatter grip due to the double stack mag which might explain why it doesn't happen when you shoot it.
I've got 6 P220s (I like Sigs :D ) - three old W.German stamped slide, and three newer milled slide with the internal extractors.
I've never had a problem with any of them, old or new ones.
The P220 Carry DAK with the Crimson Trace grips is my HD gun. I've added a Surefire X300. This...
Shoot Jason and email - [email protected]
You probably won't find them cheaper anywhere else.
I think either one will be good for you.
I would good with the Carry first. I think it would fit both needs for you - easy to use as a CCW, or it would make a great home defense gun. The barrel...
I had a tough time getting on because I had an email address through AOL and they don't approve AOL
Get yourself an email address through fast mail http://www.fastmail.fm/mail/login/
After you do that, register on the Sig Forum using it and it will take a week or two to get...
Sorry!
The Carry rail is the same length as the full sized rail. The difference in the size of the slide is in the front part - the part that extends in front of the frame. The X300 fits on the rail perfectly. I believe the Carry frames are the same as the full sized frames. I'll have to...
Sorry to do this to you, but that's exactly the set up I have for my main HD gun, only mine is a P220 Carry DAK (double action only) :neener:
Either full size or the Carry model will work out fine for you.
Good luck and keep us posted :)
