What is the "blue" finish on the Rossi .38 snub ? My neighbor has his dads old gun that was kept in a toolbox. The finish looks like it's peeling off where it rusted. It looks more like a coated finish rather than bluing. Probably not "worth" refinishing but it was his dads.

I'm looking at FFP scopes to use on a couple high power rifles. I came across a FFP with mildot reticle and MOA turrets. I would prefer mil/mil, or even moa/moa. Does the mil/MOA combo defeat the FFP benefits, or just make it "different" ?

I have a Savage 110 30.06 that I'm rebarreling in .300WM. I think it would be good to install a new recoil lug when I do (couldn't hurt). Does anyone have experience with these to suggest a replacement (thickness/brand). Would the stock barrel nut would be fine with this ? Thanks in advance...

What determines which recoil lug you can or should use ? I plan to rebarrel a Sav.110 from 30-06 to 300 WM and plan to replace the recoil lug at that time. There are a number of different thicknesses available aftermarket. Mods, if this should be in gunsmithing, please move it.
