I'm new to 50 BMG & still in the process of setting up. I have all my tools that I know I need ether at the house or in the mail with the exception of a primer pocket uniformer that I plan to make myself.
I had a box of factory ammo that is Hornady. I've shot 4 of them so I have 4 pieces of...
If anyone that has Quick Load & could post data would be great.
Here is what I'm working with.
225-55 Lee bullet
Powder coated
I'd like some data that can push these at least 2500 fps. I don't know if I can get there or not.
Can someone post pressure with Max pressure for the fallowing...
What I currently use as case lube isn't very good but I get by with it & have a bunch of it on hand so I haven't looked for anything else.
However watching several here & on YouTube rave about lanolin makes me want to give it a try. Those posting on YouTube say to use 10% of pure lanolin but...
This has little to do with reloading at this point but at the same time it does.
I bought my first Glock. It's a G27. This is also my first 40S&W. I was at Walmart & the guy offered me 5 boxes of 250 for $30 each. I was looking to take my 10 year old daily carry out of service the week before...
With a Google search I found all kinds of 223 ammo. It was going up to $2 a round. Which means I just shot over $2000 worth of ammo yesterday & I had only spent about $50 for. People keep trying to convince me I don't save money reloading.
I also just shipped out almost $1000 in reloading...
I was hopping that I could get members to post some pictures of there check dies. I would like to see all the parts & how they are put together.
I don't one yet & want to ether make one or decide which one to buy.
Thanks.
I now own 6 reloading presses. Is this a hobby in its self or have a just got a problem with buying to many tools?
Sorry about the wast of KB but thought there might be a support group out there somewhere.
My drops with measure are +/- .5gn which seems way out there using WC 846. I assume a baffle would help but I have never had to use one in my Lee measure. There is no oil where the powder can get to. I don't know what I can be missing.
I want to load with a FL die & finish the round without removing them before finished.
Does any of you load this way? How do you do it without running into problems with the lube?
I have always been a Lee fan & never seen a reason to use any thing else even tho I started with RCBS. That was until last night at the gun show when I found a LNL AP. The only way you could tell it was used is there was powder stuck in the hopper because the oil was never cleaned out. For $175...
I hear about the brass getting beat up. If there is no deflector does the brass still get dinged?
Another question to go along with that:Where dose the brass go without the deflector?
There has been a lot of talk about bullet damage lately & talk about not using a V-Max on deer sized animals. As said in other post I take head shoots so it doesn't matter much but my son may get to take his first shot this year & I would like to have an idea of what will happen.
I am also new...
I have never used the mag in the last year that I have owned this rifle because I have only shoot from a bench. I planned to take it hunting so I was checking my loads in it for funtion & found that bolt lug cathces hard on the neck. It is hard to drive past the next round & makes a bad burr...
